Look for four- or five-treat matches and other shaped matches that create power-ups, then use or combine them where their effects can clear the targets you still need. Boosters can help, but Jam City says purchases are not required to pass levels.
How Cookie Jam levels work
Cookie Jam is a match-three puzzle game: match adjacent treats to collect ingredients and complete the order or other objective shown for that level. The board layout, target and available moves vary, so there is no universal sequence that beats every hard level. How to approach a hard level
Check what the board actually asks you to do
Before making a match, identify the remaining target and where it is on the board. A match that clears treats but does not advance the order or remove an obstacle may use a move without helping you finish. Favor matches that reach the outstanding targets, especially when moves are limited.
Create power-ups with purpose
Jam City recommends making power-ups by matching four or five treats or arranging cookies in different shapes. When possible, make these matches in a position where the resulting effect can reach the level’s remaining targets. A power-up is most useful when it addresses the board in front of you, rather than simply because it is available.

Combine power-ups when the effect fits
Combining power-ups can create a stronger effect; Jam City says some combinations can clear an entire board. That is not a guarantee that a combination will complete a particular level. Consider whether it will reach the relevant obstacles or targets before spending moves to set one up.
Choose a booster for the remaining objective
Jam City’s help center describes these booster functions. Use the effect that fits what remains on the board; without knowing the level layout and target, there is no single best booster.

These are the help center’s descriptions of the boosters, not independent test results. Check the board and the booster’s stated effect before using it; an item does not guarantee a win.
Should you spend on lives, coins or boosters?
Jam City’s help article, “I need help with a level,” states: “All our levels can be completed without purchasing lives, coins, or boosters.” The publisher says developers personally ensure levels can be beaten without purchases and describes boosters and coins as optional aids. The article was last updated 1,572 days before October 8, 2026, so treat this as Jam City’s published guidance, not an independently verified guarantee about every current level.

If you are stuck, weigh another free attempt against using a booster or extra moves when available. A booster is more compelling when its specific effect addresses the target still outstanding; saving it may be preferable when it does not. Cookie Jam is free to play and its Google Play listing identifies ads and in-app purchases. Availability and store details can vary by region and change over time, and exact prices or reward availability are not established here.
