How the Sentient Pest fight works
Method’s June 23, 2025 Sentient Pest boss guide describes Gnoster as two linked entities with a shared health bar. The moth attacks from the air with magic projectiles and poison, while the scorpion pressures players on the ground with heavy swings and tail strikes.

The danger comes from overlapping attacks. Method reports that the moth can trap a player in toxic fog before the scorpion follows with a slam. Treat the fight as one encounter with two attack sources rather than focusing on either creature alone.
How to handle the moth’s poison
Method describes a wide, slow-moving poison cloud that builds poison while a player remains inside. The guide says a green shimmer generally precedes the cloud and recommends backing away and repositioning when it appears. This is a third-party guide’s description, not an official developer explanation; it does not establish exact timings or a guaranteed opening to attack.

- Watch for the green shimmer and move clear of the cloud instead of staying in it.
- Keep checking the scorpion’s position as you evade the moth’s ranged attacks.
- If the two enemies’ attacks overlap, prioritize getting out of danger and resetting your position.
Sentient Pest and Everdark Sovereign compared
Everdark Sovereign is an enhanced Nightlord encounter, not simply another name for the standard Sentient Pest fight. Bandai Namco’s June 18, 2025 announcement says Sovereigns are limited-time, stronger versions with new moves and increased power. It also says players must defeat the original Nightlord before they can face its Sovereign form.

Bandai Namco says single-player remains available within online mode. The dated rotation schedule in its announcement is historical, so it should not be treated as the current event calendar.

When the fight behaves abnormally
Bandai Namco’s patch notes document several past Sentient Pest fixes. The version 1.01.5 notes, dated July 16, 2025, report fixes for an Everdark Sentient Pest fight that could get stuck and prevent completion, and for the boss appearing outside the battle area. Those notes identify app version 1.01.5 and regulation version 1.01.7 for that update; they do not establish the newest version across platforms today.
Later notes document other specific changes: version 1.02.2 adjusted Sentient Pest incursion spawn locations to make them less likely to occur far from players, and version 1.03.1 fixed a bug involving the boss not losing sight of a player during Duchess’s Ultimate Art Finale. These are historical fixes, not a complete current patch audit. If the boss is stuck, outside the arena, or otherwise behaving unexpectedly, check that your game is updated for your platform.
