You fight Steward the Demon Sealer first, then the Demon Lord of Destruction immediately after his health bar is depleted. There is no reported shop or recovery break between them, so enter the rooftop with healing and survival items intact.
Steward is defeated by movement, interruption and patience: avoid trading into his fixed flurry, punish his winded pauses, and attack his stationary charge-up when your build can land enough hits to exhaust him. The Demon Lord is primarily a positioning test. Leave marked hazards and laser paths, then save your longest damage sequence for the moment the boss lowers its head after the major stinger-and-energy-blast pattern.

What to prepare before entering the rooftop
Treat the rooftop cutscene as the start of one continuous endurance test. The June 22, 2026 encounter guide reports no shop or break after Steward, so anything spent casually in the first fight is unavailable for the Demon Lord.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Top up healing before starting the sequence.
- Keep survival items in reserve instead of using every charge to finish Steward quickly.
- Favor attacks you can stop or reposition from quickly. Long commitments are safest when the Demon Lord is exhausted with its head lowered.
- Be ready to dodge as soon as control returns from the opening cutscene; Steward can begin with a sword charge.
No weapon, class or mandatory build is identified by the June 22, 2026 encounter guide. Your practical choice is between interrupt potential and safe distance: if your current attacks can deliver repeated hits during a charge, try to cancel it; otherwise, evade and wait for a clearer opening.

Phase one: Steward the Demon Sealer
Survive the opening and ordinary sword strings
Steward’s normal attacks are a fast, fixed sequence of swipes and jabs. Blocking or sidestepping can work against individual strikes, but the guidance recommends staying mobile through the complete flurry, including its jumping finish. Trying to trade damage inside that string is a poor use of your healing reserve. Circle, keep your escape route open and attack only after the sequence ends or Steward is visibly winded.
Recognize the dark stationary charge
Two of Steward’s important attacks share a dark, stationary charge tell. This pause is both a warning and a possible damage window. If your weapon or ability can connect repeatedly without trapping you in place, attack during the charge. The guide reports that enough hits can exhaust Steward and cancel the incoming dive or dash. If your damage is too slow to interrupt, stop attacking before the launch and prepare to dodge instead.
| Steward move | What to watch for | Response |
|---|---|---|
| Dive bomb | Steward remains in a dark charge while a target follows you on the floor. | Keep moving, dodge as he lands, then clear the small ghost-like figures that appear and resume repositioning. |
| Charged dash | The same dark charge, followed by a sparkle immediately before the lunge. | Dodge sideways when the sparkle signals the launch. Do not retreat in a straight line into the dash. |
| Fast flurry | A fixed run of rapid jabs ending with a jump. | Stay mobile until the entire string finishes; attack during the recovery rather than trying to interrupt ordinary hits. |
Handling the dive bomb
During the dive charge, a floor target tracks your position. Keep moving so the landing point is predictable and separate from where you intend to stand afterward. Dodge at the landing rather than spending your defensive option too early. Once the small pursuing ghost-like figures appear, clear them promptly so they do not restrict your movement for the next attack cycle. Return to Steward only after the landing effects and adds are no longer forcing you toward the arena edge.
Handling the charged dash
The charged dash has a brief sparkle immediately before Steward lunges. Use that visual cue to move sideways. A lateral dodge takes you out of the dash line while preserving space to punish the recovery. If you are already in range when the dark charge begins, you can attempt the interruption strategy; stop committing if the sparkle appears and the charge is clearly about to resolve.

Exploit recovery without overcommitting
Steward’s safest damage windows are the pauses after his ordinary combo and the exhaustion caused by a successfully interrupted charge. Use short attacks first, confirm that he remains vulnerable, then extend only while the opening lasts. The objective is to finish the first health bar with enough healing and survival capacity for the second boss, not to win the phase at maximum speed.
An official Steam Community announcement dated March 20, 2025 documents hotfix v0.6.2.2 changing the number and frequency of dark-magic projectiles released after Steward recovered from a downed state. That note is historical and does not establish current projectile values or replace the June 22, 2026 guide’s tactical advice. If the recovery pattern looks different in your build, prioritize the visible projectile pattern and keep moving rather than relying on an old count.
The transition: no reset between health bars
When Steward’s health reaches zero, the Demon Lord of Destruction takes over immediately. The separate health bars do not mean you receive a separate preparation phase. Spend the last moments of Steward’s fight deliberately: collect any safe recovery opportunity your run provides, avoid unnecessary item use, and enter the second phase with a plan for sustained movement.

Read the arena before chasing damage
The Demon Lord is a huge arena boss whose head and arms remain around the arena’s edge. The guide reports that it may open with a face-tracking laser, so begin by moving rather than standing still for an opening attack. Most of this phase is won by leaving the warned area early. The boss’s size can make its attacks look distant even when their floor indicators are already covering your route.

Claw slams and arm sweeps
For a claw slam or sweep, identify which arm is active and move away from the center and from the side being swept. Do not run toward the striking arm to gain a few extra hits. The safe route is the space outside the corresponding attack path; once the animation finishes, take a short attack window and return to a mobile position.
Marked stingers
Stinger attacks place warning areas on the floor. Leave every marked zone instead of trying to finish a combo inside it. The mark is the important information: the impact point matters more than the boss’s current head position. If several zones overlap, prioritize an open lane that also keeps you away from the next laser warning.
Tracking and side-to-side lasers
Tracking lasers punish hesitation, while side-to-side beams punish staying on a line after it has been telegraphed. Keep moving through the tracking beam and vacate a warned sweep line early. Short, repeatable attacks are preferable during these patterns because they let you change direction as soon as a new warning appears.

Lightning and the multi-laser follow-up
Lightning and the later multi-laser sequence reinforce the same rule: survival comes from leaving the indicated space, not from blocking every effect while remaining in attack range. Watch the floor and the beam paths, preserve your defensive movement for moments when two warnings overlap, and avoid cornering yourself against the arena edge.

The major four-stinger sequence and the best punish
The clearest high-value opening comes after the major sequence of four stingers and energy blasts. During this pattern, avoid the center and stay near a side close to the Demon Lord’s face, using the available space to escape each warning. When the sequence ends, the boss collapses exhausted and lowers its head. That lowered-head state is the main opportunity to unload sustained damage.
Save your longest ability chain, strongest attacks and any damage-enhancing resource for this exhaustion window. Do not chase equivalent damage during the preceding lasers and lightning; those patterns are designed to make a stationary commitment costly. As soon as the head rises or new floor warnings appear, disengage and return to movement.
Choosing an approach for your current build
The June 22, 2026 encounter guide does not identify a universally winning weapon, class or “best build.” Use these three decision tests instead:
Recommended Free Tools
- Can you interrupt Steward? If your attacks land enough hits during the dark charge to exhaust him, take the charge as an opening. If not, evade both charged attacks and punish only recovery.
- Can you stay mobile? Against the Demon Lord, prioritize movement that leaves marked zones and laser paths. A lower-damage attack that allows immediate repositioning is more useful outside the exhaustion window than a slow attack that locks you in place.
- Can you preserve recovery? Count your remaining healing and survival resources after Steward. Because the fights are consecutive, a fast first phase is not automatically better if it leaves you unable to survive the Demon Lord’s patterns.
Common failure points and corrections
Taking damage while trying to finish Steward’s combo
If the fast jab string repeatedly catches you, stop attacking into it. Keep moving through the full sequence and make your next attempt after the jumping finish or a winded pause.

Dodge timing the dive too early
If Steward’s dive still hits after you evade, wait for the landing rather than dodging at the start of the floor target. Continue moving while the target follows you, then use the dodge as Steward comes down.
Backing away from the charged dash
If the dash reaches you while you retreat, react to the sparkle and dodge sideways. The lateral escape breaks the lunge line more reliably than a straight backward run.
Standing in a marked Demon Lord zone to complete a long attack
Cancel the attack and leave the mark. The reliable extended damage window is the lowered-head exhaustion after the four-stinger and energy-blast sequence, not the warning phase that precedes it.

Using all healing on Steward
Reassess the run before the rooftop starts. Since the guide reports no shop or break between bosses, reserve enough recovery to survive mistakes in the Demon Lord phase.
What happens after the clear
The encounter guide reports that defeating the Demon Lord produces reward materials, a short scene and a forced end to the run. It also reports that clearing the finale unlocks Ethereal Nightmare at camp. Treat that progression information as guide-reported behavior rather than a guarantee that every current build presents the same post-clear sequence.
Controls and current-version caveat
A secondary Lost Castle 2 guide reports keyboard-and-mouse and controller support and says the developers recommend controller play. It does not establish compatibility for a particular controller model, and no current game version or encounter balance is specified. Use whichever input method lets you make quick lateral dodges and keep moving while reading floor warnings; do not buy hardware specifically for this boss sequence.
