In Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, breed Tauros by putting it and a compatible Pokémon—Ditto is the simplest partner—in your party, starting a Picnic, and collecting an Egg from the basket. The form that hatches depends on the parent’s form and whether it holds an Everstone: a Kantonian Tauros bred in Paldea without one produces Combat Breed Paldean Tauros.
How to breed Tauros in Scarlet and Violet
Scarlet and Violet use Picnics for breeding; there is no Day Care step in this method. Compatible Pokémon in your party can produce Eggs in the Picnic basket. Nintendo Life’s breeding guide explains the Picnic process, and Tauros is a breedable species.

- Choose a partner. Put Tauros and Ditto in your party, or use another compatible breeding partner.
- Set the form you want. If you are preserving a regional form, give the form-bearing Tauros an Everstone before generating an Egg.
- Start a Picnic. Allow time for Eggs to appear in the basket.
- Collect and hatch an Egg. Check the hatched Tauros’s form against the outcome you intended.
What form will the Egg produce?
A Kantonian Tauros bred in Paldea without an Everstone produces a Combat Breed Paldean Tauros, not a Kantonian Tauros. Regional-form inheritance follows the Everstone rule: give the Everstone to the parent whose form you want the offspring to inherit. For a Paldean breed, use the desired Paldean Tauros as that form-bearing parent.
Which Tauros breed can you get in each game?
The three Paldean breeds have different types and version availability. Breeding does not bypass the Scarlet/Violet exclusivity of Blaze and Aqua breeds.

Accordingly, an Egg in Violet will not provide a way to create Scarlet-exclusive Blaze Breed Tauros, or vice versa for Aqua Breed. If you want the breed exclusive to the other version, you will need to obtain a specimen by another route, such as trading. The form also affects some moves, including the type of Raging Bull.
