If you mean turning a dead Sim back into a living one, The Sims 4 has four documented routes: feed the ghost Ambrosia, cast Dedeathify, make a successful Wish for Life at the Wishing Well, or have the ghost read a Book of Life prepared for them before death. Ambrosia is the most direct route to explain because its ingredients and skill requirements are clear; the other methods depend on specific packs, magic progression, or advance preparation.
Choose a resurrection method
EA documents four ways to bring a Ghost Sim back to life. The table shows what each route requires and whether it can fail or must be prepared in advance.

How to revive a ghost with Ambrosia
Ambrosia is a meal that can bring a Ghost Sim back to life. EA’s guide requires both cooking skills at level 10 and three ingredients; it also says the ingredients can be in the Sim’s personal inventory or the refrigerator. See EA’s ghost guide for the current instructions.

- Obtain an Angelfish, a Death Flower, and a Potion of Youth. To make the Death Flower by grafting, EA’s guide says Gardening level 5 unlocks Grafting; it describes grafting a Pomegranate to an Orchid.
- Keep the ingredients in the Sim’s personal inventory or the refrigerator.
- Choose the option to make Ambrosia, then give the finished dish to the ghost.
EA says eating Ambrosia returns the ghost to the world of the living. Its older announcement also describes the dish as a resurrection food, but the current help guide is the more useful source for requirements and steps: EA’s ghost announcement.

Use Dedeathify with a Spellcaster
This option requires The Sims 4 Realm of Magic Game Pack. A Spellcaster must master the Untamed School of Magic to unlock Dedeathify; then cast the spell on the ghost to bring them back to life. EA lists this route in its ghost guide.
Try Wish for Life at the Wishing Well
The Wishing Well comes with The Sims 4 Romantic Garden Stuff Pack. Choose Wish for Life to attempt to revive the ghost. This is not guaranteed: EA says a successful wish brings the ghost back, while failure can curse the Sim. The well is therefore an uncertain route, unlike the specified Ambrosia recipe.

Use a Book of Life prepared before death
The Book of Life route only works if the book was made for the intended Sim before they died. EA’s sequence starts with the Bestselling Author Aspiration: reach its final level, write a book for another Sim on a computer, and use Capture Epic Saga to bind the book to that Sim. After the Sim dies, summon their ghost and have them read the bound book to resurrect them.

If the Sim is already a ghost and no book was bound to them while they were alive, this sequence cannot be started for that ghost.

Keep the ghost available until you can revive them
A playable ghost remains in the household. A free-roaming ghost haunts the lot where its urn or tombstone is located, and EA says the ghost can be added to the household from that object. If the ghost is not appearing, use Strengthen Connection at its urn or tombstone to help it stick around; ghosts can eventually move on.
Do not choose Release Spirit to the Netherworld if you want to resurrect that Sim. EA says releasing the spirit means the ghost cannot be brought back. That is a permanent release, not a way to turn the Sim human.

Is Rebirth the same as resurrection?
No. The Sims 4 Life & Death Expansion Pack adds ghost gameplay and Rebirth, but EA describes Rebirth as a distinct route into another life, not the same simple return from ghost to living Sim covered by the four methods above. EA says Rebirth becomes available only after the Sim completes the Dreams Fulfilled tier of their Soul’s Journey. See EA’s Life & Death announcement for that pack context.
