Spend scarce upgrades where they address your current needs, then adjust the setup for the dungeon or mode you are playing. There is no source-supported best-in-slot build for every player or stage.
This guide is about Anime Zero, the Roblox dungeon-crawler RPG published by LY*, not other games with “Zero” in the name. The official Roblox listing describes exploration, fast-paced combat, and multiple game modes; it also says the game is in active development and warns that bugs, performance issues, or incomplete features may occur. Start with one main weapon
Pick a weapon whose reach, cooldown rhythm, and combat role suit you, then use it as the anchor for the rest of your build. Rather than spreading early upgrade materials across every new drop, learn how your chosen weapon performs in manageable encounters and invest in the one you expect to carry through progression. This is a practical recommendation from an independent beginner guide, not a developer-confirmed universal ranking.
As you compare weapons, consider whether you can use their regular attacks and skills reliably in the content you are clearing. A weapon that fits your play rhythm can be a better working choice than an option that looks stronger in an unverified tier list.

Make traits support your weapon
Before spending scarce trait rerolls, check whether a trait complements your chosen weapon and how you use it. The available guidance does not establish the best trait for each weapon, so avoid treating a general tier list or another player’s setup as a guaranteed upgrade.
A fan wiki updated October 5, 2026 reports that an October 4 patch made trait rerolls specific to each weapon, added filtered auto-reroll that continues until a selected trait is found, and allowed players to select a Legendary or Mythic trait as a pity target. It also reports safety stops for Legendary or Mythic results. These are time-sensitive community-reported mechanics, not independently confirmed official details; check the live interface or an official announcement before relying on them. The same guide says the October 4 patch added Razor Focus, Overkill, Sniper, and Deadeye, but notes that the developer had not published their exact effects. It characterizes earlier claims placing Bloodlust and Supernova ahead of Hunter as player-reported consensus rather than an official ranking. That is not enough evidence to prescribe a best trait.
Spend skill upgrades on actions you use
Put skill upgrades toward attacks and actions that regularly contribute to your dungeon clears. If a harder fight exposes a specific weakness, reconsider your investments in response to that problem rather than distributing points evenly by default. This approach comes from fan-guide advice; exact costs, unlock levels, and a universally optimal skill allocation are not established.

Choose accessories for build synergy
Compare an accessory’s bonus with the weapon, trait, and skills you already use. A newly acquired item is not automatically an improvement: prioritize a bonus that supports your current plan and the content you are tackling. Review the setup after a major weapon or progression upgrade, when an accessory that once fit may no longer be the strongest match.
A fan wiki lists Sunglasses as granting +3% damage and +11% crit chance, but those figures are volatile community-reported values and have not been independently confirmed by an official source. Verify the live item description before using them to decide whether the accessory suits your build. The traits guide also lists reported crit and accessory mechanics.

Follow progression advice without treating it as a rule
A progression guide updated October 3, 2026 recommends this sequence: roll weapons in the Arsenal, evolve a carry to unlock its ultimate, reroll weapon traits, roll enchants, craft accessories from act materials, and then pursue titles. It suggests using available codes and rolls early to get a usable weapon, choosing a Power enchant for damage, and clearing Story content; later goals include evolving the carry, crafting damage accessories, and moving to harder difficulty. Use that sequence as a set of possible milestones, not a reason to spend resources on an upgrade that does not solve your current problem. The available guidance does not establish exact costs or unlock levels, or a single best order for every player.

Adjust the build to the content
There is no supported setup that is best across Story progression, harder difficulty, and every other mode. Think about what you are trying to improve before changing your build: weapon fit, skill relevance, accessory synergy, or a specific progression obstacle. Change one major part at a time, then assess it in the relevant dungeon or mode. That makes it easier to tell whether the change helped.
- Weapon fit: Does its reach and combat rhythm suit the way you play?
- Skill relevance: Does the upgrade improve actions you use in regular clears?
- Accessory synergy: Does the bonus support your weapon, trait, and skill plan?
- Upgrade opportunity: Does this spend address your present obstacle better than another upgrade?
- Mode and stage: Is the setup meant for the content you are actually attempting?
Be cautious with reported critical-hit numbers
The October 5, 2026 fan-wiki traits guide reports a reworked critical-hit system: default critical damage of 200% of base damage; caps of 60% critical chance, 275% critical damage, and 40% cooldown reduction; and skill-tree critical nodes granting 3%, 6%, 10%, and 15% per node. It also reports title bonuses of +2% critical chance for Boss Slayer and +8% critical damage for Boss Reaper. These are community-reported, time-sensitive figures, not independently confirmed official values.
