Prioritize Stamina, then build Speed and Power so she can sustain a late chase and pass rivals. Secure a suitable recovery skill before spending points on optional skills. End Closer can have a higher comeback ceiling, but its deeper positioning makes it more vulnerable to traffic and timing problems.
The recommendations below are general guide targets, not official requirements or guarantees. Career completion and competitive long-distance racing call for different levels of investment, and the best setup depends on your course, scenario, inheritance, and available support cards.
Choose Gold Ship’s distance and running style
Gold Ship is best treated as a Long-distance runner in this general build. Medium races are a secondary career option; Short and Mile races give a runner starting from the back less time to make up ground. These are build recommendations, not rules published in the official Cygames character profile.
Late Surger: the dependable default
Late Surger is the steadier choice for a general-purpose build. She races from the rear half without necessarily settling at the very back, leaving less ground to recover than an End Closer may face.

End Closer: more comeback potential, more risk
End Closer can produce a stronger late comeback, but its success depends more heavily on finding room, choosing a lane, and timing the move. Consider it when you can support the style with strong Power, useful closing skills, and enough positioning reliability. It is not automatically better simply because Gold Ship finishes late.
Set long-distance stat targets
Freedom251’s guide, updated May 20, 2026, gives the following general long-distance target ranges. They are recommendations rather than measured performance results or official game thresholds. The lower end is more suitable for a less demanding career goal; competitive long-distance play calls for a more complete build.
Rank #2
| Stat | General guide target | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | 900–1100+ | Supports the final chase and helps Gold Ship reach the leaders. |
| Stamina | 900–1100+ | Helps sustain effort through long races, especially before the closing move. |
| Power | 800–1000+ | Supports acceleration and overtaking through the pack. |
| Guts | 350–600 | A secondary stat in this allocation; do not let it displace the main long-distance needs. |
| Wisdom (Wit) | 400–700 | Can support consistency and positioning. |
The guide also gives three example spreads to show how the targets scale with ambition:
| Example spread | Speed | Stamina | Power | Guts | Wisdom |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beginner | 800 | 850 | 700 | 300 | 350 |
| Reliable long-distance | 950 | 1000 | 850 | 400 | 500 |
| High-end | 1100+ | 1100+ | 1000+ | 500+ | 600+ |
These are the guide’s published examples, not a promise that a particular spread will win. Adjust to race distance, goal, inheritance, and card roster rather than treating every number as a pass/fail cutoff.

Use race results to decide what to improve
- If Gold Ship fades near the finish, add Stamina or a recovery skill.
- If she has energy but cannot catch the leaders, raise Speed.
- If she struggles to move through the pack, work on Power, positioning, or acceleration.
Build a support-card deck around training needs
A useful starting template from the guide is 3 Speed / 2 Stamina / 1 Power. If stamina is the weak point, try 3 Speed / 3 Stamina instead. A more flexible premium deck can include Speed, Stamina, Power, and Wisdom; the exact mix depends on the cards and training opportunities available to you.
Choose cards for training efficiency and relevant recovery, distance, and closing-skill hints, not just their stat label. Borrowing a support card can fill a gap in your own roster when the option is available. There is no established universal card lineup that is best for every account or current event course.

Buy recovery before optional skills
For a long race, prioritize one dependable Stamina recovery skill, particularly when Stamina is near the lower end of your target. The guide names Swinging Maestro, Cooldown, and Deep Breaths as examples. Skill access depends on support cards and hints, so check each in-game description and its activation conditions before spending points.
After recovery, look for late-race movement, acceleration, and course-matched speed skills that suit the running style you chose. The guide names Nemesis for End Closer and Furious Feat for Late Surger. Avoid buying skills restricted to an incompatible strategy.

Train through the career without following a rigid recipe
- Junior year: Build support bonds and take strong friendship-training opportunities when they appear.
- Classic year: Establish Stamina and Power while keeping Speed within reach. Favor training where support cards overlap.
- Senior year: Finish the stat spread and purchase core skills, including recovery when the long-distance build needs it.
- Before a major long race: Avoid entering with Stamina substantially behind Speed. Manage mood and energy rather than forcing a risky, low-value training session.
Use the result of each race to diagnose the next adjustment: a late fade points to Stamina or recovery; a weak chase points to Speed; trouble passing points to Power, positioning, or acceleration. This is more useful than copying a target spread that does not fit your run.
Match the build to your goal
A career clear can use lower targets and a more flexible card setup than competitive long-distance play. Game8’s indexed listing also distinguishes career targets from Team Trials, but the detailed recommendations here come from Freedom251’s accessible May 20, 2026 guide. Neither source establishes one universal best support-card roster for every player or event.
For a competitive build, tailor the stat balance and skills to the actual race course, scenario, region, and cards and inheritance available to your account. Course conditions and card availability can change, so treat the figures above as a general starting point rather than a current-event prescription.
