What “meta” should mean for a budget squad
A meta squad is not simply a collection of the most expensive cards you can afford. It is a team whose player versions, roles, formation and chemistry work together for the way you play. There is no independently verified, current set of five exact XIs established here. The named budgets are best used as planning tiers: choose a formation, identify the roles that matter most, check the full squad cost and chemistry, and refresh prices before purchase.
How to build within any of the five budgets

- Choose formation and roles before shopping. Decide how you want to defend and attack, then list the roles your formation needs. Avoid spending heavily on one position if that leaves a required role or chemistry link unresolved.
- Build around a few priority cards. Select the players whose roles matter most to your approach, then fill the remaining positions with affordable cards that fit the formation and chemistry plan.

- Check the full team and current market. Review the formation, chemistry, card versions and total displayed cost together. What to check at each budget
Use the same checks for each tier. The budget is a ceiling, not a target to spend in full; a squad that costs less can leave room for changes as prices move.

How to judge a suggested lineup
Squad-builder pages can help you compare structures, but a displayed team is not proof that it is the best-performing option. FUTBIN’s FC 24 community squads page shows fields such as formation, rating, chemistry, prices and submission or creation dates. In one visible sample filtered around 200k–500k, a user-submitted 4-4-2 showed rating 88, chemistry 30/33 and displayed prices of 237.5K and 226.75K; a 4-2-4 showed rating 85, chemistry 33/33 and displayed prices of 241.35K and 255.7K. When reviewing any proposed XI, compare its total displayed cost with the cap, check whether the formation suits your intended roles, inspect the chemistry, and confirm the platform and date of the price check.
