Nintendo’s official UK catalog lists the Charging Grip, straps and wheel set with a June 5, 2025 release date, so these are current buying options in that market—not products with a generally open preorder. Availability and delivery dates depend on your country and retailer; check the live listing before ordering.
What to buy for the job you have
A Switch 2 includes one left and one right Joy-Con 2. Buy an extra pair if you need more controllers for multiplayer; choose an accessory instead if you already have enough controllers and want a different way to hold or use them.

Nintendo says the straps may add stability when using mouse controls in compatible games. They are not a substitute for buying extra controllers.
Check compatibility before ordering
Original Nintendo Switch Joy-Con can pair wirelessly with Switch 2, but they cannot attach to the Switch 2 console. Nintendo says they must be charged using an original Switch console or a compatible charging grip or stand. The original Joy-Con grip and charging grip do not accept Joy-Con 2.

Joy-Con 2 are larger than the original controllers and use a magnetic connector and different attachment style. Before paying, confirm the product listing names Joy-Con 2 or Nintendo Switch 2, especially for grips, charging grips, straps and wheels. How to find a preorder or an item in stock
- Choose the exact product. Decide whether you need a controller pair, charging grip, wheel set or replacement straps. Check the included-contents details so you do not mistake an accessory for a controller bundle.
- Check Nintendo’s page for your region. Nintendo’s product catalogs identify products and regional release dates, but they are not live inventory feeds. The Nintendo Australia Switch 2 accessories catalog lists controller colors and accessories. Nintendo UK lists the Charging Grip, strap and wheel set with June 5, 2025 release dates on its Switch 2 accessories page.
- Check local retailers directly. If a retailer offers a preorder, confirm the product name, region, estimated dispatch or collection date, cancellation terms and whether the listing is for controllers or accessories only. Do not infer current stock from a Nintendo release date.
- Compare the total cost before checkout. Check the local price, shipping and any other charges on the retailer’s live page. No universal price or current seller inventory is established here.

Nintendo Australia’s catalog lists these color variants and release dates. The dates describe that catalog’s regional listings, not worldwide availability or current stock.

A separately announced Japan-only Switch 2 choose-your-game bundle is a console bundle, not an accessory preorder: Nintendo Co., Ltd. announced its release for November 12, 2026. Do not treat that announcement as evidence that extra controllers or accessories are available to preorder.
