You can still buy Forza Horizon 4 as a physical Xbox game disc. Playground Games says discs purchased after the digital delisting continue to work and can use online features. The Microsoft Store and Steam stopped selling the game, and it left Xbox Game Pass, on December 15, 2024.
How to get Forza Horizon 4 now
- Look for a physical Xbox copy. The publisher says physical copies bought after the delisting date still work and can use online features. Check the listing for the exact edition, disc condition, region, and seller details.
- Confirm your Xbox can play discs. A disc requires a disc-drive console; check your specific console model before ordering. Do not assume a digital-only console can use a physical copy.
- Check what the copy includes. Read the listing carefully to see whether it is the base game or a particular edition, and whether any included content is actually on the disc or provided as a code. Do not assume separately sold DLC is available.
- Verify the offer before paying. Inventory, prices, seller reliability, and the legitimacy of third-party game-key offers have not been established here. Treat claims that a digital key is still redeemable as unverified until the seller and redemption terms are clear.
Playground Games explicitly confirmed post-delisting physical copies remain usable in its June 25, 2024 announcement, updated July 15, 2024. That confirms the format works; it does not guarantee any particular retailer has stock.

What the delisting changed
| Situation | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Buy digitally from Microsoft Store or Steam | The announced cutoff was December 15, 2024. The delisting announcement does not establish a current digital purchase option. |
| Get the game through Xbox Game Pass | The game left Game Pass on December 15, 2024, so the subscription is not a current acquisition route based on the publisher’s announcement. |
| Play a digital copy you already own | Playground Games says existing owners can continue downloading and playing, including offline, online, and multiplayer features. |
| Buy a physical copy after delisting | The publisher says it will work and can use online features. Console disc compatibility and the specifics of the listing still matter. |
The publisher attributed the delisting to licensing and partner agreements. Its announcement named the Microsoft Store and Steam and set December 15, 2024 as the date the game would leave those stores and Xbox Game Pass.
What to know about editions and DLC
Playground Games said DLC began leaving sale on June 25, 2024. Between that date and the base game’s December 15, 2024 delisting, Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions remained available, according to the announcement. That historical availability does not mean the DLC or those editions can still be bought digitally now.

Some Game Pass players received a time-limited token offer: eligibility was for players who had bought DLC and had an active, full-paid (not discounted) subscription on June 25, 2024. The publisher said eligible players would receive tokens through the Xbox Message Center, with unused tokens beginning to expire June 25, 2026. This was a historical promotion, not an open offer for new buyers.

The official Xbox product page lists Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC as platform labels. That information alone does not make an Xbox disc playable on PC or on every Xbox model: a physical-disc buyer needs compatible Xbox hardware with a disc drive. Check the specific console and listing rather than relying on a broad platform label.
