Canceling a cloud streaming service is not the same as ending a YouTube broadcast or deleting your channel. Before confirming cancellation, check whether the service will stop sending video immediately or keep access until a stated end date. If you need the broadcast to stay live, keep the current feed running until a replacement is receiving video in YouTube Studio; then stop the old feed. Do not click END STREAM unless you want to end that YouTube broadcast.
First, identify which thing you are canceling
“YouTube streaming service” can mean YouTube itself, but in a 24/7 setup it often means a separate cloud host that sends prerecorded video to YouTube. These are distinct controls:
- Host subscription: the billing relationship with the cloud service. Canceling it changes the subscription; its effect on the outgoing feed depends on that provider’s policy.
- Outbound feed: the video sent by the host to YouTube. Stopping this feed does not itself delete your YouTube channel.
- YouTube broadcast: the viewer-facing live event. YouTube’s documentation distinguishes a live stream resource, which receives the video, from the broadcast viewers see (YouTube LiveBroadcasts API documentation).
- YouTube channel: your channel account. Canceling a third-party host subscription is not the same action as deleting the channel.
Do not assume cancellation will either leave the feed running until the paid-through date or stop it instantly. The policy varies by provider, and the service may not make the consequence clear until its cancellation screen or terms.
Cancel the host without interrupting the broadcast

Confirm the biller and subscription
Check the invoice, account page, or payment statement to establish whether you are paying a cloud host, YouTube, an app store, or a reseller. Cancel with the party that bills you; a cloud host’s dashboard will not necessarily control a subscription purchased elsewhere.

Read the cancellation details before confirming
Look for the renewal cutoff, paid-through date, access end date, and any statement that broadcast output stops immediately. If the service does not say what happens to the feed, ask its support team before relying on continued output. There is no universal access period or cancellation menu for unnamed providers.

Prepare and verify a replacement if continuity matters
Set up the replacement source and check the intended event in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Confirm that it is receiving video and that the live output is visible as intended before stopping the old source. Do not assume every host can take over the same event or account configuration without checking it.

Stop the old source only after the handoff
Use the old host’s own dashboard instructions to stop its feed after the replacement is verified. For example, OneStream Live’s prerecorded-stream help says to open Stream, choose End Broadcast under Ongoing Streams, and confirm (OneStream Live: Pre-Recorded Streaming, updated September 21, 2026). This is a OneStream-specific path, not a universal menu or proof of what subscription cancellation does.

End the YouTube broadcast only if you intend to end it
Google’s production guide says, “To end the stream, click END STREAM and stop sending content from your encoder” (Google/YouTube production guide; accessed October 3, 2026; no publication date is displayed). That action is for ending the viewer-facing broadcast, not for canceling a host while keeping the broadcast going. YouTube’s Live Streaming API documentation says that when a broadcast’s auto-stop setting is enabled, it may stop around one minute after the channel owner stops sending video (YouTube LiveBroadcasts API documentation, updated September 14, 2026). Treat this as a YouTube lifecycle detail, not a promise about a particular host or event.

Leave channel and stream-resource deletion alone
If your goal is to cancel a host but preserve the channel, do not choose channel deletion. Nor is deleting a YouTube live stream resource the cancellation method: YouTube says a stream resource cannot be deleted while it is bound to a broadcast that has not completed (YouTube LiveStreams delete documentation).
What a provider-specific example can—and cannot—tell you
OneStream Live’s help center says its 24/7 streaming feature is exclusive to YouTube, requires an Enterprise plan, and has a maximum duration of 30 days. Its setup instructions describe choosing video, selecting a YouTube channel, setting stream details and duration, then scheduling the broadcast (OneStream Live: How to Start 24/7 Live Streaming?, updated September 3, 2026). Those details describe that service’s feature and setup; they do not establish OneStream’s subscription-cancellation behavior, let alone another provider’s.

If you are switching to another cloud host
Compare the current provider’s immediate-stop versus renewal-only policy, the access end date, the method for stopping output, and whether the replacement has been verified with your YouTube account and intended event. Check who owns the YouTube account and which party bills you. The available provider documentation does not establish a head-to-head comparison or guarantee that any replacement is suitable for every account.
