You can run a continuous Konkani music stream from a mini PC with OBS Studio, provided your channel is eligible, your music is licensed for continuous live broadcasting on YouTube, and the PC and internet connection can sustain the chosen settings. Configure YouTube’s encoder stream, connect OBS with the stream key, test the actual setup, and plan for power, internet, and archive failures before leaving it unattended.
1. Check channel eligibility and music rights first
Confirm livestream access
YouTube says livestreaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its getting-started guidance also says the streamer must be at least 16. Check that live streaming is enabled for your channel before configuring OBS; YouTube notes that access may take time to become available after enabling it. Secure rights for every track
Use only music whose rights holder has granted permission for continuous live broadcasting on YouTube in the territories where you intend to stream. A track being described as “free,” crediting the artist, or being playable on a music service does not by itself establish that you have livestream rights.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects such content, it may replace the stream with a placeholder image and warn you; leaving the content in place can lead to a temporary interruption or termination. If you have licensed music, ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license does not by itself prevent an interruption if your channel has not been allowlisted. 2. Prepare the mini PC and OBS Studio
Check the machine under your intended workload
Install OBS Studio and test the exact scene, audio source, output settings, and any local recording you intend to use. A static image with music is generally a simpler scene than a video-heavy production, but a compatible mini PC is not automatically capable of reliable streaming: encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity all affect CPU requirements. OBS documents OpenGL 3.3-compatible graphics and an X window system or Wayland as basic requirements for Linux/Unix; check the OBS requirements for your operating system. Do not assume a model will sustain a particular resolution or run indefinitely based on its specifications alone. Run a prolonged test with your real audio and visual scene, and watch for dropped frames, overheating, or recording failures.

Build a simple radio-style scene
- In OBS, create a scene and add the visual you want viewers to see, such as a still image you are authorized to use.
- Add your authorized playlist or audio source. Confirm that the audio is audible in the OBS mixer and that the source loops as intended.
- If you plan to keep a local copy, enable OBS recording and choose a destination with enough free space. Check that recording and streaming together do not overload the mini PC.
- Keep the scene uncomplicated unless you have tested the added graphics or motion under continuous load.
3. Create a YouTube encoder stream and connect OBS
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create or schedule a live stream and choose the encoder workflow.
- Copy the YouTube Live server URL and stream key shown for the stream. Treat the key like a password: it tells the encoder where to send the feed and enables YouTube to accept it. Do not share it publicly. YouTube’s encoder settings and stream-key guidance
- In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube as the service, and enter the stream key. If configuring the server manually, use YouTube’s provided server URL and prefer RTMPS.
- Set the output and audio options described below, then select Start Streaming in OBS. For a scheduled stream, wait for the preview to appear in Live Control Room, check picture and sound, and select Go live there.
- To finish, end the broadcast in YouTube Studio and stop sending from OBS. For a continuous channel, plan the transition between sessions rather than assuming that stopping the encoder alone handles every YouTube control-room step. YouTube’s encoder workflow · OBS’s YouTube streaming guide
4. Choose settings the PC and connection can sustain
YouTube recommends RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), and a 2-second keyframe interval, not exceeding 4 seconds. Its ingestion guidance supports H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 over RTMP/RTMPS, AAC or MP3 audio, and up to 60 fps. The bitrate examples below are YouTube’s recommended H.264 guidance, not a guarantee that a particular mini PC or internet connection can sustain them. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance

For a music stream with a still or low-motion visual, higher resolution may not add much value. Start with a supported output that your machine can sustain, then test the picture, sound, encoder load, and stream health before relying on it unattended. Keep the video bitrate low enough for the available upload capacity while still meeting your picture-quality needs.

Leave upload headroom
Run an upload-speed test on the connection the mini PC will actually use. YouTube recommends at least 20% headroom above the combined bitrate of the stream and any backup stream. Other devices sharing the connection can reduce usable upload bandwidth below the headline speed, and a connectivity disruption can break the stream. If the connection struggles, lower the video bitrate or resolution, reduce competing network use, or improve the connection before going live. YouTube’s streaming tips
5. Test before leaving the stream unattended
YouTube recommends setting up the encoder at least two hours before a stream and starting it at least 15 minutes before a scheduled event. For an always-on channel, use those recommendations as a minimum planning guide for a launch or major configuration change, then keep monitoring during the initial run. - Check the Live Control Room preview for the correct image and audio before going live.
- Watch YouTube’s stream-health indicators and OBS for dropped frames or encoding strain.
- Confirm the event is reachable from a separate device or browser.
- If local recording matters, confirm that the recording file exists, is growing, and has usable audio.
- Listen for gaps, clipping, repeated silence, or playlist sources that stop unexpectedly.
A mini PC cannot prevent failures caused by a home power cut, router failure, internet outage, or YouTube-side interruption. A UPS and local storage are optional ways to reduce some local risks, but they do not guarantee continuous service.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. For a 24/7 channel, choose between running shorter sessions and restarting them, or accepting that a full-length YouTube archive may be missing. 7. Troubleshoot common failures
