You can cancel Apple Arcade in your Apple Account’s subscription settings, but Apple’s Arcade guidance does not clearly confirm that play continues until the end of the billing period. Before canceling, check the expiration or renewal date shown in your subscription details; do not assume that date guarantees continued game access.
Cancel Apple Arcade on iPhone or Mac
On iPhone
- Open Settings and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then choose Apple Arcade or Apple One if Arcade is part of that plan.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to cancel. See Apple’s subscription cancellation guide.
On Mac
- Open the App Store.
- Open the account or subscription management area and select Apple Arcade or Apple One.
- Follow the cancellation prompts. Apple says to cancel at least one day before the renewal date; see Apple’s Mac subscription instructions.
Will Apple Arcade keep working until the billing period ends?
Apple’s Apple Arcade guide warns that after cancellation you can’t play Arcade games, even if they are downloaded. It does not clearly state whether access to Apple Arcade remains active through the end of an ordinary paid billing period after you cancel.
Check the expiration or renewal date displayed in your subscription details before canceling. That date helps you understand the subscription’s status, but Apple’s Arcade guidance does not establish that gameplay access will continue until then. The date when you cancel relative to renewal may matter, so avoid canceling close to a renewal if you need to keep playing and cannot risk losing access.
If Apple Arcade is missing from Subscriptions
Check the Apple receipt for the subscription to find which Apple Account was charged. You may be looking at the wrong account, or the subscription may be billed through a family member’s account or another provider. The account or provider responsible for billing must cancel it. If there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message, Apple says the subscription is already canceled. Check the displayed date and status rather than submitting another cancellation request.
What happens to games and gameplay data?
Apple says a canceled subscriber cannot play Apple Arcade games, including downloaded games. Apple also says you can resubscribe to play again and regain access to gameplay data, but cautions that some game data may not be supported if you wait too long. If preserving a particular game’s progress matters, check its data support before leaving the subscription inactive for an extended period.

Apple separately describes continued access after cancellation for select monthly third-party subscriptions with 12-month commitments. That rule is specific to those commitments and does not establish Apple Arcade’s access timing.
