Start with the seller that holds your order: Pokémon Center, Nintendo eShop, and other retailers have different rules. Pokémon Legends: Z-A released on October 16, 2025, so a preorder may now be processing, shipped, or fulfilled; cancellation is not guaranteed. Sign in to the account used to buy it, open the order details, and check whether a cancel or edit option is available. If the order is already being processed or shipped, contact the seller promptly about any remaining delivery, return, or refund options. The guidance below reflects US support pages unless identified as UK guidance; elsewhere, check your local seller’s terms. The Pokémon Company’s release announcement.
Check who took your order and its current status
A Pokémon Center preorder, Nintendo eShop download, and order from a retailer such as Best Buy, GameStop, or Walmart are handled separately. Open the original order page first: the available options depend on the seller and whether payment, preload, processing, or shipping has begun. If no cancellation control appears, contact that seller rather than assuming a general deadline applies.
Cancel or change a Pokémon Center preorder
Cancel before processing
Pokémon Center allows preorder cancellation only before the order is processed. If you ordered while signed in, open Order Details, select Cancel Preorder, and confirm. Check that the order shows Canceled; Pokémon Center says it will also send a confirmation email. For a guest order, use the Order Status page with your order ID and the postal code entered at checkout. Allow up to 24 hours for the status to update after requesting cancellation. Correct an address or understand a pending card amount
Pokémon Center does not change preorder addresses. If the preorder has not been processed, its suggested option is to cancel and place a new order with the correct address—but the item may no longer be available. Pokémon Center says it charges the card when the order ships and may reauthorize it shortly beforehand. A temporary authorization on a canceled preorder is not necessarily a completed charge; the financial institution releases it. Pokémon Center preorder FAQ; Pokémon Center payment information.

If the order is no longer a preorder
Pokémon Center says ordinary placed orders generally cannot be canceled or modified. If an item has shipped and could not be canceled, a non-final-sale item may be returned within 30 days of delivery. That is a return after delivery, not a preorder cancellation, and not every item qualifies. Pokémon Center preorder FAQ.
Cancel a Nintendo eShop digital preorder
Nintendo’s North American policy ties cancellation to payment and preload: a preorder can be canceled before payment is processed and the game preloads, up to seven days before release. Nintendo says payment is not processed earlier than seven days before release. Nintendo preorder FAQ.

- Open Nintendo eShop using the Nintendo Account that placed the preorder.
- Select the user icon, then Account Information.
- Scroll to Your Pre-Orders, select Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and choose Cancel.
In a browser
- Sign in at accounts.nintendo.com with the Nintendo Account used for the purchase.
- Open Purchase History, then select View pre-orders.
- Choose Cancel beside the game. If the option does not work, contact Nintendo Support. Nintendo cancellation instructions.
If a preorder was canceled unexpectedly, Nintendo says payment failure can cause cancellation—for example, insufficient funds or an expired card. Its FAQ says the game can still be purchased after release. Nintendo preorder FAQ.

Best Buy
Best Buy’s cancellation window depends on the order stage and delivery method. Its guidance says a preorder placed at least five days before release can be canceled any time while it remains a preorder. If it was placed fewer than five days before release, the remaining window depends on the shipping method. Digital content, including game downloads, cannot be canceled under this guidance. GameStop
GameStop says online-preorder cancellation depends on how the preorder was placed and how close it is to release; it does not give one universal deadline or process for every order. Walmart
Go to Account → Purchase history, open the order, and select Request Cancellation if that option appears. Walmart says most pickup, delivery, and shipping orders can be edited or have cancellation requested before processing, but options may disappear once an order is on its way. Its general guidance also notes limits for marketplace sellers and some shipping orders; it is not a Pokémon Legends: Z-A-specific preorder policy. Walmart order help.

For an Amazon US order, check the order details and contact Amazon if no cancel or change option is shown; a universal US preorder deadline is not established here. What to do if cancellation is unavailable
- For a processing or shipped physical order, ask the seller whether it can still stop delivery or what return route applies.
- For a delivered Pokémon Center item, check whether it is non-final-sale and within the stated return period before relying on a return.
- For an eShop preorder, use Nintendo’s support route if the cancellation control fails; retailer return rules do not apply to an eShop order.
- Before replacing a canceled order, match the version to your console: the game has a Nintendo Switch edition and a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The Pokémon Company’s release announcement.
