To cast Oculus Quest 2 to a TV, connect the headset and a compatible TV or receiver to the same communicating Wi-Fi network, then open the universal menu and select Camera > Cast. Choose the listed destination; if no TV appears, use the Meta Quest phone app or a computer browser.
Compatibility depends on the actual receiver, not simply whether the television is marketed as smart.

- Phone casting adds a mirror-to-TV step, while computer casting uses the Quest browser route.
- Quest 2 direct HDMI output is not confirmed as a general supported solution by the supplied sources.

What is the difference between the three casting routes?
| Route | Required destination | Best use | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Direct | Compatible TV or receiver | Fastest living-room setup | Compatibility varies by model |
| Phone | Meta Quest app plus phone mirroring | TV accepts phone screen sharing | Phone and app remain active |
| Computer | Supported browser plus TV-connected computer | Computer already feeds the TV | Browser and computer are required |
The dossier does not provide controlled measurements for latency, resolution, or reliability, so these routes should be compared by setup and compatibility rather than claimed performance.
Why does the Quest 2 fail to find the television?
The TV may be absent because the headset and receiver are on different networks, the receiver is not fully booted, or the router blocks communication between clients. A guest Wi-Fi network or isolation setting can cause that last problem.

No. A smart TV might use AirPlay, Miracast, or another platform that is not offered by Quest casting. Meta support says built-in Chromecast or other smart functionality may be supported, but compatibility cannot be guaranteed with all models
. The Meta response supports checking the specific model in the Quest list instead of assuming all Roku, Fire TV, LG, Samsung, Vizio, or Android TV products work.

What should you know about Chromecast and HDMI?
A Chromecast-compatible streaming receiver is an optional way to add a possible casting destination. Chromecast is not necessary when an existing TV or receiver is already listed, and no receiver is guaranteed to work with every Quest 2 setup. Google’s official streaming help covers receiver setup.
The supplied authoritative material does not establish a general direct Quest 2 HDMI-output workflow. Do not treat a USB-C-to-HDMI cable as the normal guaranteed solution. Cast to a computer and connect the computer to the TV when a documented wired connection is needed.
