To change the Razer Huntsman Mini’s onboard lighting without installing software, hold Fn + Ctrl, press 2 to select the Static effect, then press the number key again to cycle through the available colors. Razer documents this shortcut for the Huntsman Mini (RZ03-03390) and Huntsman Mini Analog (RZ03-0434). It cycles through onboard choices rather than opening a full RGB color picker.
Change the color without Razer Synapse
- Connect the keyboard directly to your computer and turn it on.
- Hold Fn and Ctrl together.
- Press 2 to select Static.
- Press the 2 key again to cycle through the available Static colors.
- Release the keys when the desired color appears.
This is the fastest method when you only need a built-in color or effect. Razer documents the shortcut in its onboard quick-lighting guide. The keyboard shortcut does not provide documented numeric RGB, hue, or saturation entry, so use Synapse 4 for a precise color or per-key design.
All Huntsman Mini lighting shortcuts
Razer lists these combinations for the standard Huntsman Mini and Huntsman Mini Analog:

If the keys appear dark, first try Fn + Ctrl + 2; the keyboard may simply be set to the Off effect.

Set an exact color with Razer Synapse 4
- Launch Razer Synapse 4.
- Select the Huntsman Mini from the device list.
- Open the LIGHTING tab.
- Under EFFECTS, choose Quick Effects or Advanced Effects.
- Select a preset or build your custom lighting configuration, then use the save or apply control shown by your Synapse version.
Razer’s current software instructions use the path Synapse 4 → device → LIGHTING → Quick Effects or Advanced Effects; labels and available controls can change between releases. See the official Razer Synapse 4 RGB configuration guide.
Quick Effects
Use Quick Effects for fast presets such as Static, Breathing, Spectrum Cycling, Wave, Reactive, or Starlight. It is the practical choice when you want a ready-made animation across the keyboard.

Advanced Effects
Use Advanced Effects when you need a custom layout, different colors on individual keys, layered effects, or more detailed Chroma control. The exact editor and effect list depend on the Synapse release and device support.
Huntsman Mini and Huntsman Mini Analog
The standard Razer Huntsman Mini is model RZ03-03390. Razer lists individually backlit keys, Chroma RGB, up to 16.8 million customizable color options, and Synapse 4 compatibility on its support page.

The Huntsman Mini Analog is model RZ03-0434. Razer includes it in the same lighting-hotkey documentation, so the shortcuts above generally apply. It is not the same keyboard: its switch technology and onboard-storage features differ. Use the model number on the keyboard or its packaging when checking compatibility.
When the lighting shortcut or Synapse does not work
- Confirm that you are holding Fn + Ctrl and pressing the number row key, not the numeric keypad.
- Try Fn + Ctrl + 2 first. This verifies the Static effect before you test animations.
- If the keyboard is dark, try Fn + Ctrl + 1 and then Fn + Ctrl + 2; the first command may have selected Off.
- Connect the keyboard directly to the computer rather than through a USB hub.
- Try a different USB port.
- Restart the computer, particularly after installing Synapse.
- Update Razer Synapse. If detection still fails, repair it or perform a clean reinstall.
- On Windows 11 version 23H2 or later, disable Dynamic Lighting if Windows is competing with Synapse for control. Razer includes this guidance with its Huntsman Mini troubleshooting information.
If another computer and a direct USB connection produce no lighting at all, software settings have largely been ruled out and a firmware or hardware problem becomes more plausible.

Why a color may reset after restarting
A lighting setting controlled by Synapse while the application is active is different from an onboard preset or profile saved to the keyboard. Persistence depends on the model, profile, onboard-memory support, Synapse behavior, and Windows lighting control. Razer explicitly lists onboard lighting presets and hybrid onboard storage for the Mini Analog; do not assume that every custom configuration on the standard Mini is permanently stored.
For a setting that changes unexpectedly, check which Synapse profile is active and whether Windows Dynamic Lighting is enabled. If the keyboard starts dark, use Fn + Ctrl + 2 before reinstalling anything.
