Where to find the settings
Open Ghost of Yōtei’s settings and look for its difficulty, controls, and accessibility options. The official PlayStation accessibility options page describes what the settings do, but does not specify their exact in-game menu route. Menu labels or organization may vary with the game’s current build, so follow the labels shown on your screen.
Patch v2.0 adds a high-contrast accessibility option. Sucker Punch announced rollout for October 1, 2026 globally, and October 2 in some territories, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. If it is missing, check whether the game has received the update in your territory. PlayStation.Blog’s patch announcement was published August 12, 2026 and updated August 14.
How to adjust difficulty
The PlayStation Store describes advanced adjustable difficulty: you can customize the challenge or turn on individual assists rather than treating difficulty as one all-or-nothing choice. Its feature listing and the official accessibility page identify aids such as aim assist, enhanced combat cues, and projectile indicators. The official material does not establish specific damage, enemy-health, stealth, or timing sliders, nor does it say exactly when difficulty can be changed or whether it can be altered during every encounter. Check the options available in your current settings menu.

Make button prompts and interactions easier
These settings target particular input demands; they are not a global remapping of every control.

The PlayStation Store also lists the game as playable without simultaneous button presses, motion controls, vibration, or adaptive trigger effects, and notes basic stick sensitivity and inversion options. These categories can help narrow what to look for in settings, but do not imply that every control can be remapped.

- Large Text: turn larger text on or off.
The same page lists a Persistent Centre Dot intended to help reduce motion sickness, with Off, Small, Medium, and Large choices. The Store’s feature summary also mentions visual comfort and clear and large subtitles; it qualifies subtitle coverage as the main story and main characters only. Patch v2.0’s high-contrast option is another setting to check if it has arrived for your territory.

Navigation and offscreen awareness

Choose settings by the problem you want to solve
- Combat feels too difficult: adjust difficulty and consider individual aids such as aim assist, enhanced combat cues, or projectile indicators.
- Holds or repeated presses are a barrier: check Simplified Button Holds for hold prompts and the Simplified Rapid Button Presses option for Bamboo Strikes and rapid-press sequences.
- Motion or blowing into the controller is unwanted: select the R2 alternative for forging or campfires.
- Text is hard to read: try Large Text, a different subtitle color, a backdrop, or speaker names.
- Finding direction or offscreen threats is difficult: consider the wind visibility, camera, offscreen detection, and projectile options.
- Flashes are uncomfortable: try Dark Flashes for Blind Bombs; for motion comfort, consider the Persistent Centre Dot.
