Stop the server, edit the active Altis Life mission’s price configuration, repack the mission if it is a PBO, restart, and test in game. In the standard AsYetUntitled v5.X.X layout, per-item prices are in Config_Clothing.hpp, Config_Vehicles.hpp, and Config_Weapons.hpp; category-wide fees and multipliers are in config/Config_Master.hpp.
Playing with friends? Godlike.Host runs hosted Arma 3 servers from 10 data-center locations, with free DDoS protection.
The most common reason a change appears to do nothing is that the wrong mission copy was edited, the PBO was not rebuilt, or the wrong server instance was restarted.

What you need to change first
Altis Life does not use one universal price file. The correct edit depends on whether you are changing clothing, vehicles, weapons, fuel, rentals, selling, storage, impounding, or another economy calculation. Individual shop entries normally contain an item classname, a display name, and a numeric price. Global settings can multiply or add to prices calculated elsewhere.
- Clothing shop entries:
Config_Clothing.hpp - Vehicle shop entries:
Config_Vehicles.hpp - Weapon shop entries:
Config_Weapons.hpp - Economy-wide fuel, purchase, rental, sale, storage, chop-shop, and impound settings:
config/Config_Master.hpp
These paths describe the conventional AsYetUntitled v5.X.X mission layout. A custom fork may rename a file, move a class, or calculate the amount in a script instead of reading the standard tuple, so confirm the branch and active mission template before making a production edit.

Stop the server and make a backup
Stop the Arma 3 server before opening its mission files. A running server can keep an older copy in memory, overwrite an upload, or allow players to enter while only part of a mission has been replaced. The standard hosting workflow is to stop the server, open the panel’s file manager, and then browse to the mission directory.
Make a local backup of the complete mission file or folder, not just the line you plan to edit. Keep the original PBO and the extracted folder if the mission is packed. Give the backup a useful name containing the date and server version, such as Altis_Life.Altis-before-prices-2026-10-15. A backup lets you restore a known-good mission if a missing comma, malformed class, or incorrect repack prevents the server from loading.

Find the active Altis Life mission
Loose mission folder
If your host exposes the mission as ordinary files, open MPMissions/Altis_Life.Altis/. In a hosting panel this is usually shown as the MPMissions directory followed by the Altis_Life.Altis mission folder. The configuration files are inside that mission tree, commonly under its config directory.
The folder name must match the mission template selected by the server. Editing another Altis Life copy, a development folder, or a backup with a similar name will not affect the running server. If your server uses a different map or a customized template, its mission name may not be Altis_Life.Altis; use the exact name shown in the server’s startup or mission-selection settings.
Packed PBO mission
Many Altis Life installations distribute the mission as Altis_Life.Altis.pbo rather than as a browsable folder. A PBO is an archive that Arma loads as the mission. You must unpack it with a PBO utility, edit the extracted files, and repack the resulting folder into a PBO with the same mission name.
Recommended Free Tools
The framework setup convention places Altis_Life.Altis.pbo in MPMissions. The server-side framework is commonly a separate life_server.pbo in @life_server/Addons. Item prices normally belong to the mission PBO; do not alter life_server.pbo unless the particular fork’s scripts explicitly put the calculation there.

Use a PBO tool that preserves the directory tree and file names. Do not place an extra outer folder inside the archive. After extraction, the archive’s root should contain the mission files directly, with the expected config directory at the correct level. A wrongly nested archive can make the mission fail to load or cause Arma to keep using an older file.
Which file controls each price?
| Price or fee | Typical file | Change type | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual clothing item | Config_Clothing.hpp |
Change the numeric value in that item’s tuple | Correct clothing class and shop class |
| Individual vehicle | Config_Vehicles.hpp |
Change the vehicle entry’s purchase value | Correct faction, shop, and vehicle classname |
| Individual weapon or magazine | Config_Weapons.hpp |
Change the item entry’s numeric value | Correct weapon, magazine, or attachment class |
| Fuel purchase or refuelling | config/Config_Master.hpp |
Change global fuel settings | Whether the setting affects a can, a pump, or a calculated fee |
| Vehicle purchase, rental, or sale behavior | config/Config_Master.hpp |
Change side-specific or global multipliers | Side, transaction type, and any script override |
| Chop-shop, storage, or impound fees | config/Config_Master.hpp |
Change the relevant multiplier | That the resulting fee remains economically sensible |
A per-item edit changes only the matching entry. A value in Config_Master.hpp can affect every transaction that uses that multiplier, so use the master file only when you intend a category-wide change.
Edit an individual clothing, vehicle, or weapon price
1. Open the matching configuration
Open the file for the shop type you are changing. Search for the item’s display name or classname rather than scrolling manually. Classnames are exact identifiers used by Arma; a similar-looking name can refer to a different variant, faction, or shop.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed

Clothing entries commonly follow a three-part pattern similar to:
{"U_C_Poloshirt_burgundy", "Poloshirt Burgundy", 375}
The first value is the classname, the second is the name players see, and the third is the numeric price. In the documented example, the original price was 250 and the changed price was 375. The important operation is replacing the number while leaving the classname, display name, separators, and surrounding class structure intact.
2. Change only the intended number
Do not remove quotation marks, braces, commas, semicolons, class declarations, or inheritance syntax. Do not put a currency symbol into a numeric field. If the file uses a different bracket style or a longer tuple, preserve that style and modify only the field that represents the price.
For vehicles and weapons, first confirm that the entry is in the shop players actually use. A vehicle may appear in separate civilian, police, and medic sections with different values. A weapon can have separate entries for the weapon, magazine, attachment, or a shop-specific variant. Changing one matching classname does not automatically change every duplicate entry elsewhere in the file.

3. Save in the original format
Save the file without changing its extension or encoding unnecessarily. Keep a backup of the unedited version. If your editor has automatic formatting, disable transformations that could alter class names or punctuation. A configuration file that looks visually tidy can still fail if the editor replaced a required character or introduced unsupported syntax.
Make one price change, then test it, before changing a large list. When several prices must change, keep a written list of the classname, old value, and new value. That list provides an audit trail and makes it easier to reverse a particular change.
Repack the mission and restart it
- Save the edited file. Confirm it is inside the active mission tree and not only in a local working directory.
- Rebuild the PBO if the mission was packed. Use the PBO utility to pack the extracted mission folder into
Altis_Life.Altis.pbo. Preserve the expected root structure and replace the server’s active PBO, keeping the backup elsewhere. - Upload or move the rebuilt file to the correct location. The mission PBO normally belongs in
MPMissions. Do not accidentally upload it to@life_server/Addons, which is where the separate server framework PBO is commonly stored. - Start the server fully. A file-manager save is not a reload. Stop and start the correct server instance so Arma reads the changed mission from disk.
- Join with a test account. Open the relevant shop, locate the exact item, and verify the displayed amount. Check a second item that was not changed to make sure the shop itself is loading normally.
- Record the result. Note the mission version, changed classname, old value, new value, and restart time. This prevents confusion when multiple administrators edit the economy.
The practical rule is simple: save, restart, and check that the change was accepted in game. A client reconnect alone is not a substitute for restarting the server when the mission is loaded from a PBO.
Change global economy settings deliberately
Use config/Config_Master.hpp for settings that intentionally affect a broad category. The standard layout documents examples such as:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
| Setting | Documented example | Effect to consider |
|---|---|---|
fuel_cost |
80 |
Fuel pricing used by the framework’s fuel calculation |

| Civilian, cop, and medic vehicle purchase multipliers | Value varies by configuration | Scales vehicle purchase prices for a side |
| Rental multipliers | Value varies by configuration | Scales rental charges |
| Sell multipliers | Value varies by configuration | Changes the amount returned when an item or vehicle is sold |

Value varies by configuration | Changes the chop-shop payout or calculation |
vehicle_storage_fee_multiplier |
Value varies by configuration | Changes storage fees |
vehicle_cop_impound_multiplier |
Value varies by configuration | Changes police impound charges |
The numbers above are configuration examples, not universal Altis Life prices. Your fork may use different defaults, units, or calculation order. Read the surrounding comments and class definitions before changing a multiplier.
Fuel settings need extra care
The framework documentation warns that fuel-can buy and sell settings can create exploits. For example, an overly generous sell value can let players buy and resell fuel for a profit that was not intended by the economy. Test both directions of the transaction, not only what a player pays at a pump.
Keep fees below sensible purchase or rental values
The same guidance warns that chop-shop and impound multipliers should not exceed the relevant purchase or rental multipliers. If an impound or recovery fee becomes more expensive than the vehicle’s intended economic path, players may encounter a fee loop or an incentive to bypass the system. Test a cheap and an expensive vehicle after changing these values.

Why a price edit does not appear in game
The server is loading a packed mission
If you edited a loose folder while the server loads Altis_Life.Altis.pbo, the server will continue reading the archive. Unpack the PBO, make the edit inside the extracted mission, repack it, and replace the active archive.
The wrong mission copy was edited
Compare the mission name in the server’s configuration with the folder or PBO you changed. A similarly named development mission, another map template, or a backup copy has no effect on the running instance.
The PBO was repacked incorrectly
Inspect the rebuilt archive and confirm that the edited file is present at the expected path. An extra top-level directory, a misspelled filename, or an archive uploaded to the wrong directory can make the server load an unchanged file or fail to load the mission.
The wrong shop entry was changed
Search for duplicate classnames and verify the faction and shop class surrounding the entry. A player may be opening a different shop section than the one you edited. Vehicles are especially likely to be listed separately for civilian, cop, and medic sides.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe server was not fully restarted
Saving a file in a panel does not necessarily reload a mission already in memory. Stop the correct instance, start it again, and wait for it to finish loading before testing. If several instances share a host, confirm the port or instance name so you do not restart a different server.
A script calculates the price dynamically
Custom forks can replace the standard configuration with scripted calculations, database values, event modifiers, or a different configuration path. If the expected tuple is present but ignored, search the fork’s shop and transaction scripts for the classname and the function that returns the amount. Do not assume that a standard file controls a customized economy.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Recover from syntax errors
A malformed configuration can stop a mission from loading or cause a class to be skipped. Typical mistakes include deleting a quotation mark, omitting a comma, changing a bracket, misspelling a class name, or entering a non-numeric value where the framework expects a number.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
- Restore the last known-good backup if the server will not start.
- Compare the edited line character by character with the original.
- Reapply only one change and test before making another.
- Check the server log for the filename and line number reported by the parser.
- Repack the corrected mission and restart the same instance again.
Do not troubleshoot a syntax failure by changing several unrelated economy settings. First return the mission to a loadable state, then isolate the price edit.

Verify the display and transaction
Check the price shown in the shop and complete a controlled purchase with a test account. The amount displayed may come from a calculation that is different from the base tuple, so verify the actual balance change as well. For a sale or rental multiplier, test the transaction type that uses that multiplier rather than checking only a purchase screen.
Test both sides of a category-wide change
When changing fuel, test buying fuel and refuelling from a can. When changing sell values, test the payout. When changing storage or impound settings, test the fee with at least two vehicle values. This catches unintended reversals and scale effects that a single shop visit cannot reveal.
Check an unchanged control item
Open another item in the same shop whose value was not edited. If it is missing or its display is broken, the problem is likely the mission, shop class, or syntax rather than the new number. If only the target item is wrong, inspect duplicate entries and the exact classname.
Document the live configuration
Keep the deployed PBO or mission folder together with a change log. Record who changed it, when the server restarted, which file and classname were edited, and the observed in-game value. This is especially useful when an update replaces the mission files or when a custom fork changes its layout.
Version and fork boundaries
The file names and examples in this guide reflect the AsYetUntitled v5.X.X structure and a conventional hosted Altis Life installation. They are not a guarantee that every fork uses the same paths or computes prices the same way. A fork may move configuration into another directory, rename a mission template, store values in a database, or apply a script-level multiplier after reading the tuple.
Before editing a customized server, identify three things: the mission name selected at startup, the file or script that supplies the shop amount, and whether the mission is loose or packed as a PBO. If any of those differ from the standard layout, follow the fork’s structure rather than copying a path blindly.
Quick Recap
Administrator checklist
- Stop the server and make a dated backup.
- Confirm the active mission name and whether it is a loose folder or a PBO.
- Choose
Config_Clothing.hpp,Config_Vehicles.hpp,Config_Weapons.hpp, orconfig/Config_Master.hppaccording to the scope of the change. - Search by exact classname and verify the surrounding shop and faction.
- Change only the numeric field required, preserving syntax.
- Repack the mission when applicable and place it in the active
MPMissionslocation. - Restart the correct server instance completely.
- Test the displayed price, the actual transaction, and an unaffected control item.
- For fuel, sale, chop-shop, storage, or impound changes, test both sides of the calculation and watch for exploit-friendly values.
- Keep the backup and change log until players have confirmed the live economy behaves as intended.
