Nintendo’s reviewed support pages do not document a specific in-app notification or privacy-settings path, so the exact controls available depend on your device and the installed app version.
First, identify the app and platform
This guide covers Hello, Mario! and Hello, Yoshi!, which Nintendo groups together for smart-device support. Nintendo lists the Hello, Mario! series for supported smartphones and tablets as well as Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The steps below concern mobile operating-system controls; a console’s system settings are different.
Check the app’s name and whether your device runs iOS or Android before looking for a setting. Nintendo’s device guidance lists iOS 15 or later, or Android 6.0 or later with at least 2 GB of RAM, a 64-bit CPU and OpenGL ES 3.0 or later. Nintendo cautions that meeting those requirements does not guarantee the app will work on every device; Chromebooks and x86 or x86-64 processor devices are not supported. See Nintendo’s supported-device FAQ for current details.
Change or turn off notifications
Open your phone or tablet’s Settings and find the notification controls for the relevant Hello app. From there, use the options shown by your operating system to allow, limit or disable notifications. Menu names and locations vary by OS version, and Nintendo’s support material does not establish a universal tap-by-tap path.

If the app does not appear in the notification list, check that it is installed and open the device’s app-specific settings. Do not assume the app has an in-app notification toggle: Nintendo’s reviewed support pages do not document one.
Review privacy permissions
In your device Settings, open the app’s permissions or privacy controls and review only the permissions actually listed for that app. You can change or deny an available permission there, subject to the operating system’s options. The reviewed Nintendo sources do not provide an app-specific permission inventory or establish that either Hello app requests any particular category of personal data.

Update an older Android installation
Nintendo published a notice after Unity Technologies announced a security vulnerability affecting Android games and applications in October 2025. Nintendo released an updated Android version of Hello, Mario! in response and advised users on version 1.0.0 to update. Nintendo said the issue was fixed for Hello, Yoshi! as of version 1.0.0. Check your installed version and the current store listing rather than treating those historical version notes as confirmation that an old installation is safe or up to date. See Nintendo’s Android security notice.
