Open Studio Settings and find a preference

In Roblox Studio, press Alt+S on Windows or Option+S (⌥S) on Mac to open Studio Settings. Roblox Creator Hub documents these shortcuts.

Type a keyword into the search field at the top of the settings window. For example, search for “theme” to find the light or dark theme preference.

Select the relevant option and adjust it in the settings panel. These preferences change the Studio interface or your local development workflow, not the published game’s settings.

Change script-editing preferences
For code editor behavior, open the Script Editor tab in Studio Settings. Roblox documents options for font face and size, tab width, whether Tab inserts spaces, text wrapping, and script editor color presets. See the Script Editor documentation for the available controls.
Choose the right place for game and experience settings
Studio Settings are for the development environment. Most game- and place-level settings are managed through Creator Dashboard, according to Roblox’s experience and place publishing guidance.

Set age and region access

Open the experience’s page in Creator Dashboard.

Go to Audience > Access Settings.

Configure the age and region access options, then save.
Edit values used by experience code
For configurable values that the experience’s code consumes, use File > Open Configs in Studio. You can edit configs and stage them for testing before publishing. Roblox says up to 1,000 active configs can be managed at a time; see the experience configs documentation.

Studio availability and system requirements
Roblox describes Studio as a free application for Windows and Mac. Its setup page lists Windows 10 and macOS 10.14 as minimum operating systems, and Windows 11 and macOS 14 or later as recommended. It lists 3 GB of RAM as the minimum and 8 GB as recommended. These are Studio system requirements, not extra requirements for changing preferences.
