The game stores downloaded mods in an addons subfolder inside that location. Consoles do not offer this location change.
Change the download location on PC
Arma Reforger uses a startup parameter for this change; it is not a setting in the Workshop interface. Bohemia Interactive documents -addonDownloadDir for directing the game and Workshop downloads to another location. The parameter name is case-insensitive.
- Choose an absolute path to a folder your Windows account can write to, such as
D:DownloadedMods. Make sure the drive has enough free space for the mods you expect to download. - Add this to Arma Reforger’s launch parameters, substituting your chosen path:
-addonDownloadDir "D:DownloadedMods". - Start the game. Downloaded addons will be placed in
D:DownloadedModsaddonsin this example.
Bohemia’s Startup Parameters documentation shows the option in the context of ArmaReforgerSteam.exe and recommends absolute paths. A relative path can be relative to the executable’s location, but an absolute path makes the destination clear.
Understand the folder layout and related option
The path after -addonDownloadDir is the parent destination, not the final folder containing the downloaded addons. Reforger places them in an addons subfolder under that target.

Do not add -addonsDir just to redirect downloads. That separate option adds directories the game searches when loading mods; Bohemia says it is not needed with -addonDownloadDir.
Find the default PC folder
Without a changed destination, the documented PC location is %userprofile%DocumentsMy GamesArmaReforgeraddons. The official Workshop instructions identify this default path.

Can you change the folder on Xbox or PlayStation?
No. Bohemia’s Workshop instructions say the download location cannot be changed on consoles. The same page states a total mod-storage limit of 25 GB for consoles; treat that as the page’s stated limit, which may depend on platform or game version.

Arma Reforger automatically downloads the mods required by a server. Bohemia notes that different servers can use different versions of the same mod, so joining another server may trigger another download even if a different version is already on your drive. You cannot select only part of a server’s required mod set. See Bohemia’s guide to using mods in Arma Reforger.
