On PC, change Baldur’s Gate 3’s language in the launcher: on Steam, use Library > right-click the game > Properties > Language; in GOG Galaxy, use game settings > Manage Installation > Configure and choose a language. A download may be required before you play.
Change the language on Steam
- Open your Steam Library.
- Right-click Baldur’s Gate 3 and select Properties.
- Open Language, then select the language you want. See Larian’s language instructions.
- If Steam downloads language files, let the download finish before launching the game. Steam notes that language availability varies by game; see its language support page.
Change the language in GOG Galaxy
- Select Baldur’s Gate 3 in GOG Galaxy.
- Click the settings icon beside Play.
- Choose Manage Installation > Configure.
- Select a language from the dropdown. This is the sequence in Larian’s support FAQ.
What to do on PS5 or Xbox
Larian’s published instructions cover Steam and GOG Galaxy, and the official sources reviewed do not establish an exact PS5 or Xbox menu path. Check the console’s system-language settings and the game’s options; if the language you want is unavailable, contact Larian Support. Do not use the PC launcher steps as console instructions.
Check whether your language includes voice audio
Language availability differs by platform and by category. A language listed for interface text or subtitles does not necessarily have spoken dialogue. Steam’s Baldur’s Gate 3 listing distinguishes interface, subtitles and full audio; the US PlayStation Store listing lists screen languages separately from English voice. Check the listing for your platform and the specific language category you need before changing settings.
