Use the weather command while playing or from your server console. The fastest options are /weather storm for rain, /weather blizzard for snow, /weather none to clear the current event and resume the normal cycle, and /weather disable to stop weather now and prevent the next scheduled event.

Weather commands at a glance
Open the in-game chat or a server console, enter one command, and press Enter. Chat commands need a leading / or @; the console uses the command without that chat prefix. Commands are case-insensitive.

The official Unturned Weather reference describes weather as manually started and ended with the weather command. The command changes the live game state; it does not by itself rewrite the server’s long-term pacing settings.
What you need before entering a command
Administrator permission in multiplayer
Players must have administrator privileges to run commands through multiplayer chat. If the server rejects your message, ask the owner to grant admin access or run the command in the server console instead. The official Commands reference documents chat, console, and Commands.dat as command entry points.

Single-player behavior
Single-player users have administrator privileges by default, so the chat commands normally work without any additional setup.
Chat and console syntax
- In chat, use
/weather stormor@weather storm. - In a server console, enter
weather stormwithout the chat prefix. - Command names and weather values are not case-sensitive.
Step-by-step: change weather while playing
- Open Unturned’s in-game chat, or open the console for the server you control.
- Confirm that you have administrator privileges if you are using multiplayer chat.
- Enter the command that matches the result you want:
/weather storm,/weather blizzard,/weather none, or/weather disable. - Press Enter and watch the environment. A valid command starts, clears, or disables weather immediately.
If chat reports that the command is unknown or unauthorized, retry from the server console or have the server owner grant the required permission. A command typed correctly can still fail in chat when the sender is not an administrator.

/weather none: clear this event and resume scheduling
none removes the weather currently running, then allows the game to choose and schedule another event. It is the reset option, not a permanent “clear skies” lock. On a map with an active weather schedule, another storm or snow event can therefore appear later.
/weather disable: stop weather and block the next event
disable cancels the active weather and also prevents future scheduled weather. Use it when the goal is to keep a server clear rather than merely end one storm. This option was added in the March 18, 2022 patch; the dated notes are recorded on the official March 18, 2022 patch page.

The distinction matters on maps such as Yukon, where clearing weather can otherwise cause a new event to be scheduled immediately. Choose disable for a weather-free interval and none when the ordinary cycle should continue.
Reusing the currently active weather value
The March 18, 2022 patch notes also specify that running the weather command with the GUID of the weather that is already active reschedules that weather instead of toggling it off. If you need to end it, use none or disable according to the scheduling behavior you want.
Built-in weather names and GUIDs
Short names are easiest to type, but the weather system also accepts asset GUIDs. GUIDs are essential when a weather asset has no dedicated short name and are useful for selecting a precise built-in variant.

For example, an administrator can start gentle snowfall with /weather 22a2d4cf2d0341e08bee3d9557b78d23 or heavy thunderstorm weather with /weather 6c850687bdb947a689fa8de8a8d99afb. The GUID is the value after /weather; do not add quotation marks.

How to stop rain or snow reliably
Stop it once and return to normal scheduling
Run /weather none. The current rain or snow ends, but the map’s weather system remains allowed to schedule another event.
Keep weather off
Run /weather disable. This cancels what is visible now and suppresses the next scheduled event. It is the safer choice for building sessions, tournaments, screenshots, or any server rule requiring clear conditions.

That behavior usually means the cycle was reset rather than disabled, or that the map has its own schedule. Use disable instead of none. If the map’s schedule or a mod controls weather, check that asset’s rules as well; runtime commands and map-authored scheduling can interact.
Make weather happen more or less often
Commands are temporary runtime controls. For a server-wide pacing change, edit the gameplay configuration. The official Gameplay config reference lists separate minimum and maximum values for rain timing, plus frequency and duration multipliers.

A practical configuration workflow
- Stop or otherwise safely take the server out of active play before editing its gameplay configuration.
- Open the gameplay configuration file used by that server and locate the rain and weather entries listed above.
- Change only the values that match your goal: frequency settings for the wait between events, duration settings for the length of an event, and multipliers for broad scaling.
- Save the file and restart or reload the server using its normal administration procedure so the settings are read.
- Test with a manual
weathercommand, then allow the scheduler to run and verify that the new pacing matches your intention.
Changing a multiplier is different from issuing /weather storm: the command starts one event immediately, while the configuration affects future scheduling and duration. Keep a copy of the previous configuration so you can restore it if the resulting cycle is unsuitable.
Important map limitation
The weather multipliers do not affect maps that use a default weather system when the map has its own schedule. On those maps, changing the global multipliers may appear to do nothing because the map-authored schedule is controlling the events. In that case, use the runtime command for a one-off change or modify the relevant map or mod asset.

The command system is not limited to chat. The official Commands page confirms that commands can be sent through in-game chat, entered in the server console, or added to a server’s Commands.dat file. Console entry is useful when you are not an in-game administrator, when chat permissions are unavailable, or when you need to administer a server remotely.
A runtime command affects the current session. A command recorded in Commands.dat is part of the server’s startup command setup, so treat it as server configuration and verify the result after a restart. Use the weather command’s documented value exactly; a malformed or unsupported value will not select the intended asset.

Triggering custom weather from a mod or map
Map makers and mod authors can pass a weather asset GUID to the weather command to start a custom weather event. The Unturned 3 modding knowledgebase explains this workflow on its Weather Asset page. The asset must exist in the relevant map or mod, so a GUID copied from another project will not automatically work on your server.

For custom weather, the value 0 can be used to end the event. This is a modding-oriented asset control and should not be confused with the player-facing none and disable choices: none resumes normal scheduling, while disable also blocks future scheduled weather.
Troubleshooting weather commands
The command is rejected in chat
- Check that the command begins with
/or@. - Confirm that you are an administrator on that multiplayer server.
- Try the server console, where the chat prefix is omitted.
- Check spelling: the command is
weather, followed by a short name or a complete GUID.
Rain stopped, then came back
You probably used none, which clears the active event but leaves scheduling enabled. Use disable when the next scheduled event must also be prevented.
The wrong weather appears
Use the exact GUID from the weather table or the map/mod documentation. A short name selects only the assets that have that alias; GUIDs select the corresponding asset directly.
A weather command seems to restart instead of stop
If you submitted the GUID of the currently active weather, the documented behavior is to reschedule it. End the event with none or disable rather than repeating its active GUID.
Configuration changes have no visible effect
First confirm that the server loaded the edited gameplay configuration after a restart or reload. Then determine whether the map uses its own weather schedule; the global weather multipliers do not affect a map’s own default schedule. A manual command can still test whether the weather command itself is available.

- Clear a storm but keep the normal cycle:
/weather none. - Hold clear weather for a building session:
/weather disable. - Start rain for an event:

/weather blizzard. - Start gentle snow:

The Bottom Line
Use /weather storm or /weather blizzard to start a specific event, /weather none to clear it and resume scheduling, and /weather disable to keep future scheduled weather from returning. For lasting pacing changes, edit the gameplay frequency and duration settings, while remembering that maps with their own schedules may ignore the global multipliers.
