Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo change the nickname shown on your Genshin Impact profile, open the in-game Menu and go to Profile > Edit Info > Edit Username. HoYoverse’s Help Center gives this route in guidance updated October 6, 2025. The change applies to your in-game nickname, not your HoYoverse Account Username.
Change your in-game nickname
- Open the in-game Menu.
- Select Profile.
- Choose Edit Info, then Edit Username.
- Enter the nickname you want and confirm the change in game.
These menu labels follow HoYoverse’s current instructions. The support article does not provide separate button-by-button directions for PC, mobile, or controller, so the precise input for opening a menu may vary by platform.
When can you change it again?
HoYoverse states that an in-game nickname change starts a 72-hour cooldown. If you cannot change it again, wait until that period has ended before trying. This is the support rule described in the Help Center article updated October 6, 2025, not a one-time allowance.
In-game nickname vs. HoYoverse Account Username
These are separate identifiers. Your in-game nickname is edited from the Genshin Impact profile menu. Your HoYoverse Account Username is an authentication method; HoYoverse says that once linked, it cannot be changed or unlinked.

HoYoverse’s Terms of Service advise against using a nickname that reflects your real name or other personal data, and prohibit obscene or otherwise offensive nicknames.
