Go to Settings > Account Info > Update Email. If you’re locked out, use an email or phone number already attached to the account to try recovery; if neither is attached, Roblox directs you to Customer Support and requires proof of ownership before changing account information.
If you can still sign in
Roblox’s standard email-change process sends verification to the new address. The old address receives an alert about the change, but it is not described as the destination for the verification message. Roblox Support says, “You must know the account password to change the email address.” Roblox’s email-change instructions provide these steps:
- Open Roblox Settings in the browser or mobile app.
- Select Account Info.
- Select Update Email.
- Enter the new email address and your current Roblox password.
- Open the verification email sent to the new address and follow its instructions.
Make sure you can open the new inbox before starting. If you cannot complete the password step, use the recovery options below rather than assuming the old inbox is the only obstacle.
If you’re locked out of Roblox
On the login page, select Forgot Password or Username? and try an email address or phone number already attached to the account. Roblox’s password recovery guidance describes a six-digit code for phone recovery. If the account has neither an attached email nor phone number, Roblox says self-service password reset is unavailable and directs players to Customer Support.

Support may ask you to verify account ownership before resetting the account or changing its information. Contacting support is not a guarantee that Roblox will approve a request; provide accurate information and follow the instructions on the official support channel.
If 2-Step Verification is blocking sign-in
A working password may not be enough if you cannot complete the account’s 2-Step Verification (2SV) prompt. Try another method already configured for the account, such as a saved backup code or another available verification option. Roblox’s 2SV recovery guidance lists a phone number, passkey, and saved backup codes as possible options. Availability and age limits vary, and Roblox says people who lose access to their primary method may need two different verification methods in their account details. If none of the offered methods works, contact Customer Support.

For troubleshooting an email 2SV code, Roblox says the code expires after 15 minutes. Check the inbox for the address registered to that verification method and follow Roblox’s 2SV troubleshooting guidance if the code does not arrive or is no longer valid.
When phone or parent recovery options may apply
Phone verification is available only in select countries. If it is not available where you are, Roblox says the phone field will not appear. For users under 13, Roblox describes a parent’s verified recovery email as an option. See Roblox’s email and phone verification guidance for details.

Protect access after the change
Once you regain access, verify the new email and review the account’s recovery methods so a lost inbox, phone, or 2SV method is less likely to lock you out again. Keep backup codes somewhere secure and accessible only to you. A physical security key, such as the YubiKey 5 mentioned by Roblox as an example for 2SV, is an optional protection method—not a way to change the email, bypass verification, or recover an account.
