Find hours played for a game on PS5
- From the PS5 home screen, select your profile icon.
- Choose Profile.
- Open the Games tab.
- Find the game you want to check. Its entry shows hours played, along with details such as when you last played, progress, and trophies, according to PlayStation’s overview of the PS5 interface.
The Games list covers both PS4 and PS5 titles, so you can use it to check a supported game from either generation.
What the playtime figure tells you
The number beside a title is the per-game playtime shown in your profile’s Games list. It is different from the total-hours figure in PlayStation’s personalised PS5 stats dashboard, which reports overall time spent in games on a PS5 console or PlayStation Portal; that dashboard is not a replacement for the per-game list. A third-party guide published June 17, 2026 reports that the per-game figure is rounded to whole hours and may not update immediately. Sony’s official materials cited here do not specify its rounding or refresh timing, so treat the displayed value as an estimate if you need minute-level precision. PlayStation’s support page describes the separate Wrap-Up experience, not the per-game counter’s precision.

Does PS5 count paused or idle time?
Sony has not clarified in the official material cited here whether paused or idle time contributes to a game’s displayed hours. A third-party guide likewise says that behavior has not been officially confirmed. Don’t assume the counter either includes or excludes time when a game is left running without active play.

If you cannot find the game
- Check the title under Profile > Games, rather than relying on the account-wide stats dashboard.
- Allow for a possible delay before a recently played session appears in the figure; this delay is reported behavior, not a timing guarantee from Sony.
- If you need an exact session duration, the displayed whole-hour figure may not provide it.
