You can check whether the account currently appears online, but visibility settings can make someone appear offline even if they have used Roblox recently.
How to check whether someone is online now
- Search for the person on Roblox and open their profile, or find them in your Friends list. Roblox explains how to find profiles and view their basic information in its Profiles guide.
- Look for the current online indicator on the profile or Friends list. It shows a current visibility status, not when the person last played.
If the account appears offline, that does not prove its owner has not used Roblox recently. Roblox says people outside the account holder’s selected visibility audience see them as offline. Available audiences vary by age and region, according to Roblox’s Online Status and Visibility guidance.
Why Roblox doesn’t show a general-user last-online timestamp
On October 28, 2024, Roblox announced that it would deprecate the endpoint that returned a timestamp of when a user was last online, and said it would no longer support that endpoint. The announcement gave November 15, 2024, as the planned date for the changes. See Roblox’s developer announcement.
Old guides or references to the endpoint do not mean that ordinary users can now retrieve another account’s historical last-online time through Roblox. The current profile and Friends list indicators are not substitutes for that timestamp.

What the “LastOnline” API field does—and doesn’t—mean
Roblox Creator Hub documents a LastOnline field in results from Player:GetFriendsOnlineAsync. This is a game-development interface for a player’s online friends, not a supported general-user lookup for any Roblox account’s history. The documentation also says the results use a 30-second cache. See the Roblox Creator Hub Player API reference.
How to change who can see your online status
To manage your own setting, go to Settings → Privacy & content restrictions → Visibility & private servers → Visibility → Online Status. On desktop, open Settings from the gear icon; on mobile, tap More, then Settings. Roblox’s listed audience options can include friends, trusted friends, followers, users you follow, no one, or everyone, depending on your age and region. See Roblox’s instructions.
