Check Activision’s current Call of Duty Security and Enforcement Policy, then the Software License and Service Agreement for your specific game. If official terms do not clearly authorize the exact add-on and how you plan to use it, do not use it until Activision support clarifies its status. An online download, tutorial, or seller’s assurance is not proof of permission.
Start with the exact game and use
Before judging an add-on, identify the Call of Duty title, platform, mode, and the specific tool or device. A rule for one title or mode does not establish that the same tool is allowed in another. The current enforcement policy says it covers Call of Duty titles from Modern Warfare (2019) onward on console and PC. It does not provide a public, case-by-case whitelist for every third-party file or peripheral.
For titles within that scope, read the current policy alongside the game’s Software License and Service Agreement and Activision’s Terms of Use. Activision’s terms prohibit using, developing, hosting, or distributing cheats, bots, modded lobbies, hacks, mods, or other unauthorized third-party software in connection with its products. The applicable game agreement and updated terms matter, so do not assume a rule for a newer title settles the status of an older one.
Check what the add-on actually does
The label “mod,” “add-on,” or “accessory” does not settle whether something is permitted. Assess its functions: does it change gameplay, alter game data or memory, automate actions, expose hidden information, manipulate stats or unlocks, or modify inputs in a way that creates an unfair advantage?

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- High-risk software: Activision lists aimbots, wallhacks, trainers, stats hacks, texture hacks, leaderboard hacks, injectors, and input-mapping software used to modify game data as examples of unauthorized software that can be sanctionable.
- Hardware and peripherals: The policy identifies unapproved input-modification devices and modded controllers among unsupported external hardware or applications when used for cheating.
- Other prohibited conduct: The policy also identifies boosting, circumventing security, reverse engineering, glitching, spoofing, and improperly obtaining downloadable or unlockable content.
Activision’s policy says, “Cheating/Modding/Hacking will not be tolerated.” It also says, “Anything that suggests altering the memory on your console or PC in order to acquire new gear, items, loadouts, or other game content is considered cheating.” Do not trust services or tutorials promising altered camos, unlocks, loadouts, or similar content through memory alteration.
Use this check before installing or connecting anything
- Write down the specifics: Note the game, platform, mode, add-on name, and what it changes or automates.
- Check the policy’s coverage: Open Activision’s Security and Enforcement Policy and confirm whether your title is within its stated scope.
- Read the applicable terms: Review that game’s Software License and Service Agreement and the Activision Terms of Use. Look for language about authorization, modifications, third-party software, game data, and peripherals.
- Compare the function to the rules: Treat changes to files or memory, automated actions, hidden-information tools, unfair input changes, and altered stats or unlocks as serious warning signs under the current policy.
- Get an official answer if unclear: If the documents do not clearly authorize your exact add-on and use, ask Activision support before using it. Do not rely on a tutorial, community post, or seller claim as authorization.
What can happen if an add-on violates the rules?
Depending on the conduct, its severity, and how often it occurs, Activision says enforcement can include warnings, temporary or permanent bans, restrictions, corrections to inventory or stats, and hardware bans. Active account enforcement can apply across linked devices. Activision also says the account holder is responsible for infractions on the account, regardless of who was playing.

Older games and unclear cases
The current policy’s stated coverage begins with Modern Warfare (2019). For an older title, a specific offline or private configuration, or a tool whose status remains unclear, consult that title’s applicable license and contact official support rather than assuming the current policy answers every case. Activision’s historical Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Security & Enforcement Policy, dated 2019-11-21, also addressed unauthorized game-data modification and unsupported peripherals such as modded controllers, but it is title-specific and historical.
