Check the exact reward, edition, format, storefront, platform account, country, retailer and offer dates together. A Vault Edition loyalty discount, an Xbox Store credit, an automatically granted digital item and a retailer code are separate promotions with separate terms. Your local product page and the order screen immediately before payment are the decisive checks.
Start with the exact bonus, not the game title
People often ask whether their country qualifies for the Modern Warfare 4 pre-order bonus as if every reward uses the same territory list. It does not. Activision’s edition information and support documentation describe several different benefits, while Microsoft publishes its own country list for one Xbox Store promotion. A country included in one offer is not automatically included in another.

Write down these details before you try to qualify:
- The precise reward: a Vault Edition loyalty discount, digital preorder content, Xbox Store credit, a retailer promotion or a partner code.
- The edition and format: digital Standard, digital Vault or physical Standard.
- The purchasing channel: an in-game store, a platform storefront, Microsoft Store, Steam, Battle.net or a participating retailer.
- The country or region attached to the storefront and payment account.
- The platform and account used for the purchase.
- Whether the benefit is automatic or requires a printed or emailed code.
If any of those details are unknown, an answer based only on your physical location is unreliable.

Offer-by-offer eligibility at a glance
| Offer | Format or channel | What controls eligibility | How the benefit is delivered |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard digital preorder benefits | Digital preorder or prepurchase | The local storefront’s edition listing, account, country and the individual promotion terms | Some digital items are granted automatically |
| Vault Edition loyalty discount | Digital Vault Edition preorder or prepurchase | A qualifying prior title played on the same platform and platform account; discount must appear before checkout | Price reduction shown in the in-game store or platform digital storefront |
| Xbox Store promotional credit | Qualifying purchase through the Microsoft Store offer | Listed participating country, offer window, purchase channel and available supplies | Region-dependent Xbox gift card value; PC customers receive an Xbox app notification |
| Retailer or partner code | Usually a physical purchase or a separately advertised promotion | The promotion’s own territory, product, retailer and redemption terms | A code entered according to that promotion’s instructions |
Activision’s general guide cannot settle every retailer’s local listing or every platform store’s separate terms. Treat the exact listing and checkout display as stronger evidence than a generic article about the game.
How to check the Vault Edition loyalty discount
The loyalty offer is a 10% discount against the standard MSRP for an eligible digital Vault Edition preorder or prepurchase. Activision says the discount is only available at checkout when the qualifying previous title and the Modern Warfare 4 preorder use the same gaming platform and the same platform account. The official guide states: “The discount is only available at checkout if you pre-order or pre-purchase Modern Warfare 4 on the same gaming platform and with the same platform account used for the previous qualifying title.” See the official Call of Duty edition and preorder guide.
Confirm that your earlier game qualifies
The guide lists these qualifying titles:
- Modern Warfare (2019)
- Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered (2020)
- Black Ops Cold War
- Vanguard
- Modern Warfare II (2022)
- Modern Warfare III (2023)
- Black Ops 6
- Black Ops 7
Activision describes qualifying ownership or access through a digital or physical purchase, specified active Game Pass tiers, or a PlayStation Plus Monthly Games claim. Merely having seen the game, using a different account or playing on another platform does not satisfy the stated continuity rule.

Check the account actually signed in to the store where you will buy Modern Warfare 4. For example, ownership on one console profile does not establish eligibility for a different profile, and a qualifying console copy does not automatically transfer the discount to a PC storefront. The prior title and the new preorder must be associated with the same platform and platform account.
Verify the edition and purchase type
The discount applies to a digital Vault Edition preorder or prepurchase. It does not apply to a Vault upgrade, and Activision says physical preorders cannot be upgraded to Vault Edition. The Vault Edition itself is digital only. If you are looking at a physical Standard Edition listing, do not expect the Vault loyalty price to appear.
Check the price before paying
- Sign in to the platform account that played the qualifying title.
- Open the Modern Warfare 4 product page in the in-game store or the platform’s digital storefront.
- Select the digital Vault Edition, not Standard Edition and not a later upgrade.
- Review the displayed price on the final checkout screen.
- Proceed only if the 10% reduction is visible before you authorize payment; save the receipt showing the edition and price.
The guide describes the offer as subject to change and available for qualifying preorders or prepurchases through October 23, 2026. A current checkout display is therefore more useful than an old screenshot or a remembered price.
How to check the Xbox Store promotional credit
The Xbox Store promotion is a Microsoft Store-specific offer, not a universal Modern Warfare 4 regional rule. Microsoft lists a window from 12:00 AM PST on May 28, 2026, through 11:59 PM EST on October 22, 2026, while supplies last. The terms specify region-dependent Xbox gift card values rather than one worldwide amount. Read the Microsoft Store offer terms for the value and current conditions attached to your storefront.

This list applies only to the Microsoft offer on that page. It does not establish eligibility for PlayStation, Steam, Battle.net, a physical retailer preorder or a different partner promotion.
Check delivery, especially on PC
Microsoft says PC customers should receive an Xbox app notification within 35 days of game launch. The stated redemption route is the Xbox app’s Offers & credits area. Keep the purchasing account signed in, allow notifications, and retain the order receipt until the notification arrives. A missing notification before that stated period is not by itself proof that the purchase was ineligible.
Physical and digital preorders are not interchangeable
Activision identifies physical PS5 and Xbox Series X Standard Editions at participating retailers. The retailer, seller and local product page determine what is included with a physical preorder. One store’s listing may describe a code or an early-access item while another listing in the same country may not.
Use the exact product description, seller identity, edition name and shipping region when checking a physical listing. A search such as Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 PS5 physical edition can locate listings, but the search result itself is not proof of a promotion. Confirm that the page names the bonus, identifies the correct region and explains whether a code is supplied. Do not assume that every physical Standard Edition includes the same benefit.
Because the Vault Edition is digital only and physical preorders cannot be upgraded to it, buying a physical Standard Edition is not a way to obtain the Vault loyalty discount later.
Determine whether a code is required
Activision Support says some digital preorder entitlements are granted automatically and do not require code redemption. Other benefits, including selected partner promotions, use a separate code and separate terms. The Modern Warfare 4 bonus-content support page, dated September 14, 2026, describes digital preorder content such as the Hunter Killer Operator Skin, an Xbox Store offer delivered through Xbox app notifications, and a selected Monster Energy drink promotion for double XP and other game content.
For a code-based offer:
- Read the promotion’s own country, product and expiry rules.
- Enter the code exactly as printed, including all 13 characters.
- Use the account that should receive the content.
- Check the game or account inventory after redemption, allowing the delivery time stated by the promotion.
For an automatic entitlement, do not search for a nonexistent code. First confirm that the order used the intended account and platform, then check the stated delivery location and timing.

Region, storefront and account are separate checks
Your location, the storefront region and the account used for payment may all appear in the eligibility question, but they are not interchangeable. Record the country shown by the purchasing storefront, the account signed in at checkout and, for a physical order, the seller’s shipping territory. Then compare those details with the exact promotion terms. A country list on a Microsoft page cannot override a retailer’s own conditions, and a retailer listing cannot create the Vault discount if the platform-account continuity rule is not met.

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Do not use a broad “available worldwide” statement as a substitute for the local product page. The strongest evidence is a named reward on the current listing, followed by the checkout price or the order confirmation. If those documents disagree, pause the purchase and ask the seller or platform which term controls.
Compare two offers on the same six axes
When deciding between listings, compare digital versus physical format, Standard versus Vault edition, platform and account continuity, purchase channel and retailer, country or region, and the offer window. Finally, note whether delivery is automatic or depends on a code. These checks prevent a lower advertised price from being mistaken for a better eligible deal. Local prices, gift-card values and included content can differ, so do not rank offers until your own platform and country are confirmed.
Why the Vault discount may not appear at checkout
You are on the wrong platform account
Sign out and identify which account owns or played the qualifying title. The account used to browse the store may differ from the account used years ago, particularly on a shared console.
The qualifying title was played on another platform
The loyalty rule requires the same gaming platform and platform account for the previous title and the Modern Warfare 4 preorder. A qualifying game on one platform does not create a cross-platform discount automatically.

The offer is for a digital Vault Edition preorder or prepurchase. Return to the edition selector and verify that you are not purchasing Standard Edition or a Vault upgrade.
You are trying to use a physical preorder
Physical preorders cannot be upgraded to Vault Edition under the guide’s terms. Check the digital storefront instead if you meet the platform-account requirement.

The prior game does not match the listed titles
Compare your library with Activision’s eight-title list rather than relying on a similar name or a different Call of Duty release. If the game is not listed, the guide does not establish eligibility.
The offer changed or ended
The loyalty promotion is subject to change and is described through October 23, 2026. If the discount is absent despite matching the other conditions, capture the checkout page and consult the current official guide or support channel before paying.

Diagnosing code errors and missing content
A 13-character code error usually has one of three explanations in Activision’s support guidance:
- Invalid entry: re-enter every character exactly as printed.
- Already redeemed: the code may already have granted the content to the signed-in account.
- Maximum-redemption message: verify that the correct account is signed in and that the promotion has not reached its redemption limit.
Do not buy another copy merely because an item is not visible immediately. Check the account’s transaction or redemption history, restart the game if the promotion instructs you to do so, and follow the specific promotion’s delivery window.
A final pre-purchase checklist
- Name the reward you are testing, rather than saying only pre-order bonus.
- Match the edition and format to the offer: digital Standard, digital Vault or physical Standard.
- Confirm the storefront, retailer and country attached to the purchase.
- For the Vault discount, verify a listed qualifying title, the same platform and the same platform account.
- Look for the discount on the checkout screen before payment.
- For Xbox Store credit, compare your country and purchase channel with Microsoft’s terms and note the offer’s dates and supplies condition.
- For a code, read the promotion’s own redemption instructions and preserve the receipt or code packaging.
- Save the order confirmation showing the edition, platform, account and price.
When to contact the seller or Activision
Contact the storefront or retailer when the local listing does not say which bonus is included, the seller’s territory is unclear, or the receipt conflicts with the product page. Contact Activision Support for an account, entitlement or code issue after checking the relevant offer terms. Include the order receipt, exact offer name, edition, platform, platform account and country. A broad publisher guide cannot determine an individual order’s status when the retailer’s terms or account records differ.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is being in a Microsoft-listed country enough to qualify for every Modern Warfare 4 preorder bonus?
No. Microsoft’s country list applies to its Xbox Store promotional credit only. PlayStation, Steam, Battle.net, physical retailers and partner promotions can use different territories and conditions.
Can buying Game Pass again guarantee the 10% Vault Edition discount?
No. Activision describes qualifying access through specified active Game Pass tiers, but the listed prior title must also be played and the preorder must use the same platform and platform account.

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Can a physical Standard Edition be upgraded later to receive the Vault discount?
No. Activision says the Vault Edition is digital only, physical preorders cannot be upgraded to it, and the loyalty discount applies only to a digital Vault preorder or prepurchase.
Why is my Vault discount missing even though I own a qualifying Call of Duty game?
Check the eight-title list, the platform, the platform account, the selected edition and the checkout date. The 10% reduction must appear before payment; ownership on another platform or account does not satisfy the rule.
Do all digital preorder bonuses require a code?
No. Activision says some digital preorder entitlements are granted automatically. Code-based partner offers have separate redemption instructions, country rules and expiry terms.
When should a PC buyer expect Xbox Store credit?
Microsoft says PC customers receive an Xbox app notification within 35 days of game launch. Check the Offers & credits area and keep the purchasing account and receipt available.
What should I do if a 13-character code says it was already redeemed?
Verify that the intended account is signed in and check its redemption or transaction history. The code may already have granted the content; contact support with the receipt if it is still missing.
Does a Monster Energy promotion use the same rules as the preorder bonus?
No. Selected Monster Energy drinks are described as a separate promotion for double XP and other content. Check that promotion’s own products, countries, dates and code instructions.
The Bottom Line
Your preorder bonus is eligible only when the exact promotion’s edition, platform account, storefront, country, purchase channel and dates all match. Use the local listing and the final checkout or order confirmation as the final test; never extend one promotion’s regional list to every Modern Warfare 4 bonus.
