Check the game’s Steam Store page
Steam says product restrictions are noted on the product’s Store page. Check the page while signed in, and make sure it reflects the country relevant to your account. A page’s availability notice applies to that country; do not infer availability elsewhere from it.
Steam does not publish a universal list that establishes whether every game is available in every country. Check the live page for the specific game and store country rather than relying on a general claim about the title.

Confirm your account’s store country
In Steam, open Account Details and check the store country shown there. Steam says this country is based on the location of your first Steam purchase. A mismatch between the account country and the country you are checking can make the Store page or its currency misleading.

Steam describes changing the store country for people who have genuinely moved or are residing abroad for an extended period. The change is made during checkout with a payment method from the new country, and the selected country must match where you currently reside. Steam says a country change is limited to once every three months; it is not a way to browse other regions’ prices or catalogues.

Buying directly from the Steam Store
Steam says most products purchased directly from its Store have no region restrictions, but this does not mean every product is available in every region. Check the individual game’s page for restrictions before purchasing.
Receiving a Steam gift
Gifts may have regional restrictions. Steam displays gift restrictions at purchase, and the gift description lists the countries where it can be redeemed. Ask the sender to check those details before buying or sending the gift.
Buying a retail Steam key
Key restrictions vary by publisher. Before paying, check the seller’s packaging or terms for the specific territory and ask the retailer if the terms are unclear. If an already-purchased key reports “Game not available in your territory,” Steam says the copy is restricted for activation from your region. Steam Support cannot remove that restriction; contact the seller about refund options.

Troubleshoot a page or checkout that looks wrong
- The Store shows the wrong currency: Open Steam through the Steam application. Steam says a link may have taken you to a Store page for another region.
- Checkout fails while you are traveling: Check the account’s existing store country, turn off any VPN or proxy, and use a payment method that matches that country. Steam says proxy transactions will be declined and attempts to bypass regional pricing or content restrictions are forbidden.
- A VPN or proxy seems like a workaround: Do not use one to disguise your location to redeem a region-restricted gift. Steam warns this violates its terms and may result in account restrictions.

The message “Game is not available on your current platform” refers to an unsupported operating system, not necessarily a regional restriction. Check the game’s system requirements on its Store page to see whether your device and operating system are supported.
