To check DLSS support, look up the exact PC game in NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX games list, confirm the feature in that game’s current graphics settings, and check that your GPU supports that feature. For NVIDIA App overrides, inspect the game’s Driver Settings separately. “DLSS version” can mean a feature such as Frame Generation, an override model or preset, or the game’s DLSS runtime library; those are different things, and the available checks do not establish a universal way to identify the exact library loaded by every game build.
What “DLSS support” and “DLSS version” mean
DLSS is a family of features, not one switch. A game can support one feature without supporting the others. NVIDIA’s DLSS technology page describes the features and their hardware compatibility.

- DLSS Super Resolution: renders the game at a lower internal resolution and uses AI reconstruction to produce the output image.
- DLSS Frame Generation: generates additional frames between rendered frames. Its GPU compatibility differs from other DLSS features.
- Ray Reconstruction: uses AI to replace selected ray-tracing denoisers.
- DLAA: uses the DLSS approach for anti-aliasing at native resolution rather than primarily scaling a lower-resolution image.
When someone asks which “version” a game uses, clarify which of three things they mean: the supported DLSS feature generation, an NVIDIA App override model or mode, or the version of the runtime library included with and loaded by a particular game build. A feature label does not identify the runtime library version.
Check the game’s listed features
- Open NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX games list and search for the exact PC title.
- Read the feature columns rather than relying on a generic DLSS label. Note separately whether the title lists Super Resolution, Frame Generation, Ray Reconstruction, or another feature.
- Check the list’s legend: it distinguishes a game’s native DLSS integration from support through an NVIDIA App override.
The list is a useful index, not a substitute for checking the installed game. NVIDIA says its list was last updated May 31, 2026, and advises players to check the game’s options; integrations are added regularly. The date describes the list’s update, not the game’s current build or a guarantee that every listed feature is enabled in every configuration.

Confirm support in your installed game
Start the game and open its graphics, display, or video settings. Look for the specific feature you want, then verify that it is available and enabled in the installed build. NVIDIA’s games-list guidance also directs players to load the game and enable DLSS in its options.
Settings can differ by game version, platform, and hardware. If a feature is missing or unavailable, check that you are looking at the PC version and current build, then compare your GPU against NVIDIA’s compatibility information. A listing for the title alone does not prove that every DLSS feature is available on every GPU.

Check whether your GPU supports that feature
Use NVIDIA’s DLSS page and compare the GPU series against the compatibility table for the particular feature. Do not infer that a card capable of Super Resolution also supports Frame Generation or every other DLSS feature. The relevant question is whether your GPU supports the feature you intend to use in this game.

Check NVIDIA App overrides separately
A game may have native DLSS support while NVIDIA App also offers an override that changes or updates some DLSS model behavior. These are separate paths: the game’s own support remains one question, and whether an override is available and active is another.

- Open NVIDIA App and select Graphics.
- Select the game, then open Driver Settings.
- Inspect the DLSS Override controls available for that title. Options depend on supported titles and may require a recent app and driver.
- Where available, use the NVIDIA overlay to see active DLSS Override models and modes.
NVIDIA describes this per-game workflow in its NVIDIA App release highlights and its DLSS Override announcement. The overlay’s model and mode information is useful for confirming an override; it should not be treated as a universal report of the exact runtime DLL version loaded by the game.

- If the question is about a feature generation: name the exact feature shown in the game’s current settings or NVIDIA’s title listing, and state whether it is native or available through an override.
- If it is about an NVIDIA App model or preset: report the selected override and, where available, the active model or mode shown in the app or overlay.
- If it is about the runtime library version: do not infer it from a DLSS feature badge or overlay. The official materials cited here do not establish one universal method for identifying the exact library loaded by every game build. Consult documentation for that specific title and build rather than guessing.
For a meaningful comparison between games or configurations, record the exact game and build, DLSS feature, GPU generation, whether the support is native or overridden, and the active override model or preset when one is enabled. NVIDIA’s DLSS developer page provides developer-oriented technology context, but does not replace title-specific checks for the installed game.
