EA’s recommended check is to use DxDiag for your processor, memory, graphics card, driver and DirectX version. Meeting the minimum requirements indicates baseline playability, not a promise of smooth performance at the highest settings.
Find the requirements for the exact game
- Open the EA app and go to the Store.
- Select the game you want to play to open its Game Hub.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and find its system requirements.
EA publishes requirements separately for each game. Check the selected game’s listing—not the EA app’s own system requirements—and use the minimum and recommended tiers if both are shown. EA Help: EA app system requirements and game requirements.
Get your PC specifications with DxDiag
- In Windows, search for
dxdiagand open the app. - If DxDiag offers a 64-bit option, run that version.
- Wait for the report to finish loading, then select Save All Information to save a copy you can refer to while checking the game’s requirements.
The report includes your processor, memory (RAM), graphics card, graphics driver version and date, DirectX version, page-file size and limited error messages. EA’s guidance is: “Compare your system specs in the DxDiag with the game’s minimum requirements to make sure your setup can run the game.” Electronic Arts’ DxDiag guidance.
Compare the requirements component by component
Match the game’s listed requirements against your PC, paying attention to the full model names. A graphics-card brand by itself is not enough to establish a match. Check:

- Operating system: Confirm your Windows version and whether the game requires 64-bit Windows.
- Processor: Compare the listed CPU model with yours.
- Memory: Compare your installed RAM with the minimum or recommended amount.
- Graphics card: Compare the actual GPU model, and video memory if the listing specifies it.
- DirectX: Check any required version or feature level against the DxDiag report and game listing.
- Storage: Make sure you have at least the required free space.
- Internet connection: Check whether the game specifies a connection requirement.
Minimum requirements indicate a baseline; recommended requirements are the game’s higher published target. Neither tier, by itself, specifies a guaranteed frame rate, resolution or graphics preset. EA Help: PC system requirements.
Check which graphics adapter the game can use
In DxDiag, the Display tab shows the graphics adapter. If a laptop has both integrated graphics and a dedicated GPU, make sure the game is using the dedicated adapter when required. EA notes that some systems may fail to switch to it automatically. A graphics card missing from the report can point to a hardware issue or, on a laptop, an adapter-detection or switching problem. EA recommends keeping the graphics driver current and getting drivers from the GPU manufacturer’s official source. Many recent games may not run well—or at all—without a dedicated GPU. EA PC graphics troubleshooting.
What a requirements match does—and does not—tell you
If your PC meets a game’s minimum requirements, that is not a guarantee of high-settings performance. EA puts the distinction plainly: “If your computer meets the minimum requirements, it means that you can play the game on your computer, not that it will run well at the highest settings.” A PC close to minimum may benefit from closing other apps while playing. A current match also cannot guarantee that later game updates or expansions will continue to run on the same hardware. EA PC graphics troubleshooting guidance.
