Resident Evil Requiem PC requirements
The Steam and Epic Games Store listings agree on the main hardware baselines. Epic explicitly says an SSD is required; the stated performance targets use upscaling, so they should not be read as native-resolution guarantees or independent benchmark results.

Capcom’s published targets are support guidance, not a guarantee for every PC. Steam notes that frame rate may drop when processing load is high. The listings do not specify an SSD capacity or interface, so check your PC and the current store listing rather than assuming a particular drive will fit.
How to check your PC specs
Capcom’s troubleshooting guidance recommends comparing your hardware with the published requirements and using DxDiag to collect system details. On Windows, use this procedure:

- Press Windows+R, type
dxdiag, and press Enter. You can also search Start for “Run” and enter the command there. - Wait for the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to finish gathering information.
- Select “Save All Information…” to save a report you can refer to while checking your system.
- Compare your Windows version, processor, system memory, graphics card, dedicated VRAM, and DirectX information with the requirements table.
- Check whether the drive where you plan to install the game is an SSD.
DxDiag can identify the GPU model and VRAM. For a laptop, note the full laptop model and whether its graphics processor is a mobile GPU; a GPU name that resembles a desktop requirement does not establish equivalent performance.
What to verify
- Windows: Windows 11, 64-bit.
- CPU: The exact processor model, not just the brand or number of cores.
- GPU and VRAM: Exact graphics model and dedicated video memory. Shared system memory is not the same as dedicated VRAM.
- RAM: At least 16 GB.
- DirectX: Version 12 support.
- Storage: An SSD for the game installation.
How to interpret a match or mismatch
Compare every part with the minimum tier first, then check how many parts also meet the recommended tier. A PC that meets minimum but falls short of recommended is not automatically ruled out; Capcom’s Steam troubleshooting thread recommends lowering graphics settings in that situation. A component below minimum, however, makes operation uncertain: Capcom says below-minimum PCs may have poor frame rates or may not run, and it does not warrant or officially support operation below those requirements.

Do not assume a newer-sounding or similarly named part performs exactly like a listed component. The requirements establish named baselines rather than equivalence for every unlisted CPU or GPU. Performance also depends on the configuration, drivers, settings, and updates.
Laptop and integrated graphics caveats
Capcom warns that normal operation is not guaranteed with onboard graphics or other devices that share VRAM with system memory. It also cautions that mobile GPUs meeting a listed minimum or recommended name may not run the game properly, because mobile GPU performance can be substantially lower than that of regular GPUs. Laptop power limits and configuration matter, so compare the exact GPU variant and laptop model rather than relying on a desktop name match.

Handheld PCs
Handheld results are specific to the device and software environment. PC Gamer’s February 27, 2026 performance analysis reported that its initial ROG Ally test struggled even at low settings, while a later update said the game ran well on Steam Deck. Those observations concern different hardware and driver circumstances; neither predicts performance on every handheld or replaces Capcom’s requirements.
If your PC is close to the requirements
Use a demo as a limited hands-on check
The Epic Games Store page lists a demo covering part of the game’s early stages and says demo save data cannot transfer to the full game. Trying it can show how that portion behaves on your PC, but the listing does not say its performance predicts every later scene or configuration.

Try settings and basic troubleshooting
- If your system meets the minimum tier but not the recommended tier, start by lowering graphics settings, as Capcom’s Steam troubleshooting guidance advises.
- Keep Windows and graphics drivers current when investigating problems, also following Capcom’s troubleshooting guidance.
- If you are considering a desktop GPU upgrade, independently check power supply capacity, case clearance, and slot/interface compatibility. A laptop GPU is not a casual upgrade path; check the specific laptop’s upgradeability.
- If you need an SSD, check the PC’s available form factor, interface, and capacity before choosing a drive. The game’s published requirements do not name a specific SSD size or interface.
Where to confirm current requirements
The Steam and Epic Games Store pages list the official PC requirements; Capcom’s support FAQ and Steam troubleshooting thread provide the hardware caveats and DxDiag guidance. Store details can change with updates, so check the current official listing before installation. Steam lists February 26, 2026 as the PC release date.
