To check Aion 2’s connection indicator, open Settings → Information Display → General → Display Network Status. The game places a signal-quality indicator in the lower-right of the HUD. Current guides disagree about whether that indicator is only color-coded or also prints a latency number, so use Windows Resource Monitor when you need a numeric reading.
With Aion 2 running on Windows, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc, open Performance → Resource Monitor, choose Network → TCP Connections, find AION2.exe, and read Latency (ms). Treat that as a live diagnostic for the game connection, not as an official NCSoft benchmark. Aion 2 has no published official “good ping” cutoff; judge the result by its average, consistency, and relationship to what you feel in combat.

Use the in-game indicator first
Open the current menu path
- Launch Aion 2 and enter a playable session.
- Open Settings.
- Select Information Display.
- Open General.
- Turn on Display Network Status.
The menu path above is reported by a current third-party guide dated October 12, 2026. It is not documented in the official support pages reviewed for Aion 2. If you remember older instructions that put the option in another section, look under Information Display → General before assuming the feature has been removed.

Once enabled, leave the status element visible while you play. Current descriptions place it in the lower-right area of the HUD and describe it as a color-coded signal-quality marker. Another current guide says the HUD displays a latency value. Because the two descriptions conflict, do not assume that a color is an exact millisecond reading, and do not assume every client build will print a number. The indicator is most useful for watching whether the connection changes when a problem starts.

Observe it over several minutes
A single glance can miss an intermittent spike. Keep the indicator on through ordinary movement, a fight, a zone transition, and any period in which you notice delayed actions. Note whether it stays steady, changes briefly, or remains degraded. Write down the in-game time and what you were doing when the change occurred; matching the indicator to a specific event is more informative than a one-second snapshot.
Get a numeric reading with Windows Resource Monitor
When you need a number, Resource Monitor provides a practical Windows diagnostic while Aion 2 is open. This is a troubleshooting method, not an official NCSoft procedure.
- Start Aion 2 and remain connected to the game session you want to examine.
- Press
Ctrl+Shift+Escto open Task Manager. - Select the Performance tab.
- Choose Resource Monitor. If Windows shows a link or button for it, open that control rather than ending the game process.
- In Resource Monitor, open the Network tab.
- Expand TCP Connections.
- Locate the row for
AION2.exe. - Read the value in Latency (ms) for that connection.
Keep Resource Monitor open long enough to see several readings while the game behaves normally and while the problem is present. Record the ordinary range, the highest short-lived value, and whether the value changes at the same moment as the HUD indicator or delayed input. If several Aion 2 rows appear, make sure you are looking at the row associated with the active game connection rather than another process.

What ping measures
Ping is the round-trip delay for data to travel from your device to a remote endpoint and back, normally expressed in milliseconds. It is not a score for your computer and it does not measure graphics performance. A lower delay can make an online action feel more immediate, but the number alone does not describe the entire connection.
NC America describes Aion 2 combat this way: “Precision, timing, and positioning shape every battle in AION 2’s fast-paced combat.” That emphasis explains why delay is noticeable when you are reacting to attacks, moving into position, or trying to perform a timed action. The sentence is a description of combat design, not a promise about network performance.

Three measurements matter

There is no official Aion 2 “good ping” number
The reviewed official Aion 2 material does not publish an acceptable-latency threshold, a latency distribution, or a rule defining a number as good or bad. Community ping-test pages sometimes use bands such as 50, 100, or 300 milliseconds as general guidance, but those cutoffs are not NCSoft standards. Do not present any of them as the game’s official definition.
Instead, interpret your reading in context:
- A steady value that is higher than another player’s does not automatically indicate a fault; distance and routing can differ.
- A low value that repeatedly jumps during fights can feel worse than a higher value that remains stable.
- A browser result to a public endpoint cannot establish the exact delay to your current Aion 2 session.
- The strongest evidence is a value that changes at the same time you experience delayed actions, rubber-banding, or a disconnect.
How to interpret common results

Run a repeatable check instead of chasing one number
Use the following routine whenever you want evidence you can compare:

- Enable Display Network Status and leave it visible.
- Play under the same general conditions for several minutes. Include the activity in which you normally notice delay.
- Open Resource Monitor without closing Aion 2 and record the Latency (ms) shown for
AION2.exe. - Write down the usual reading, the largest observed spike, and the exact time of any delayed action or disconnect.
- Repeat the observation later under similar conditions. A result that appears once is weaker evidence than a pattern that recurs.
This approach separates a persistent connection characteristic from a brief event. It also gives support staff a timeline instead of an unsupported statement that “the ping is bad.”
Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet when local instability is suspected
Run the same play session once over Wi-Fi and once over a wired Ethernet connection, keeping the game region and activity as similar as practical. Compare both the Resource Monitor value and the in-game behavior.
- If spikes occur on Wi-Fi but not on the wired session, the local wireless link is a plausible contributor.
- If both sessions show the same behavior, the cause may lie elsewhere in the route or at the game-service side.
- If neither session changes the symptoms, buying a cable is unlikely to address that particular problem.
A Cat 6 Ethernet cable is a reasonable, inexpensive way to perform this comparison. It is not a guaranteed latency fix: a cable cannot remove distance to the server, an ISP routing problem, congestion outside your home, or a server-side issue.

Why browser ping tests can mislead
Web-based tests are useful for rough regional comparisons, but they do not answer the precise question “What is my ping to the Aion 2 server I am using right now?” Community test pages measure HTTPS timing to regional public endpoints and, for some services, UDP-style echo nodes near those services. Those endpoints are not the actual global Aion 2 game servers.
A browser test can therefore help you compare two local setups or two broad regions, but it cannot prove that your live game session has the same latency. The route, peering, server location, protocol, and congestion can all differ. When the goal is to explain a delayed action in Aion 2, prioritize the HUD observation and the AION2.exe latency row taken during that session.
Use the supported regional context correctly
NC America announced that global servers would be hosted locally in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. That is the supported broad region list. The official material reviewed does not publish exact datacenter addresses or guarantee a particular latency for a player in any city or country.
Community measurements also describe regional endpoints as proxies and note that NCSoft has not published datacenter locations. A result from a nearby public endpoint can therefore suggest that one region is relatively closer, but it cannot identify the game server or guarantee the value you will see after logging in.
Check the network requirement before diagnosing ping
NCSoft’s official support FAQ lists a broadband Internet connection for both minimum and recommended Aion 2 requirements. It does not specify a bandwidth number or a ping target. Meeting that requirement means the connection category is supported; it does not guarantee low or stable latency.

Bandwidth and latency are different properties. A connection can have ample capacity and still experience delay from distance, routing, or temporary instability. Conversely, a latency reading can look reasonable while a brief spike causes a missed timing window. Record both the measured behavior and the conditions under which it occurred.

Start with the local comparison
Repeat the session on Wi-Fi and Ethernet as described above. Use the same character, region, and type of activity when possible. This comparison tests whether changing only the local link changes the symptom.
Check whether the problem is intermittent
Leave the status indicator visible and watch for changes during the exact moments of delay. A stable average with short spikes calls for a different investigation than a consistently elevated reading. Record timestamps rather than relying on memory.
Separate game-session evidence from proxy evidence
If a public browser test disagrees with the game, do not average the two numbers or select the lower one. They measure different paths. Use the active AION2.exe connection for the game-specific observation.
Escalate repeated disconnections
For continuing disconnections, NCSoft support asks for your current country, when the issue began, and your Internet service provider. Include the times of the disconnects and the observations you made with the in-game indicator or Resource Monitor so the report can be tied to a specific session.

Common mistakes that produce the wrong conclusion
- Treating a color as an exact number: the current guides disagree about the HUD format, so a color-coded marker should not be converted into an invented millisecond value.
- Calling a community band an official threshold: no official Aion 2 cutoff has been published.
- Testing only a generic website: the endpoint may be close while the game route is not.
- Taking one reading: a brief spike can be the event that matters.
- Assuming Ethernet always fixes latency: it can isolate a local Wi-Fi issue, but it cannot correct every source of delay.
- Confusing graphics lag with network lag: Resource Monitor’s latency value concerns the game connection; it does not measure frame rate or rendering performance.
A practical decision guide
If the HUD changes and Resource Monitor spikes together
You have matching game-session evidence for an intermittent network event. Repeat the Wi-Fi/Ethernet comparison and document when the spikes occur.
If Resource Monitor is stable but the game still feels slow
Do not force a network explanation. Repeat the check during the affected activity and consider that the sensation may not coincide with a connection change. The available measurements do not establish a cause by themselves.
If a browser test is low but the game reading is high
Trust the game-session reading for the game question. The browser test is measuring another endpoint and cannot override the active Aion 2 path.

Collect your country, ISP, start date, timestamps, and the readings or indicator changes you observed, then send those details to NCSoft support.
Bottom line
Enable Settings → Information Display → General → Display Network Status for an at-a-glance view, but use Windows Resource Monitor and the AION2.exe Latency (ms) field when you need a number. Judge the result by consistency and by whether it changes with the delay you feel, not by an unofficial universal cutoff. Browser tests are only proxies, regional server locations are not publicly specified, and a wired comparison can diagnose a local Wi-Fi contribution without guaranteeing a fix.
