What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Choose a PC around the most demanding realistic or tactical shooter you plan to play, then match the whole system to your resolution and graphics settings. Start with each game’s current CPU, GPU, memory and storage requirements; use benchmarks at your target resolution and settings to estimate actual performance. Requirements alone do not promise a particular frame rate, and one game’s specification cannot stand in for another’s.
Start with the games and performance target
Before comparing PCs, make a short list of the shooters you intend to play and decide whether you are targeting 1080p, 1440p or 4K, along with the settings and frame rate you want. A game’s minimum or recommended specification is a compatibility reference—not a standardized performance test. The cited requirement pages do not define a shared resolution, graphics preset or FPS target, so they cannot tell you by themselves how a system will perform at 1440p or 4K.
For a purchase decision, look for benchmarks of the same game at your target resolution and graphics settings, ideally on a comparable game version. Requirements identify the components the publisher names; benchmarks help compare the performance of candidate configurations.
What three shooter requirement lists show
These official or store listings illustrate why a PC choice should be based on your actual game list. Their GPU names are not equivalent performance ratings: the lists use different requirements and are not results from a common benchmark.

Specifications can change, particularly for games that receive major updates. Check the live page for each game before buying. A model appearing in one game’s recommended list should not be treated as a guarantee that it will deliver the same experience in another.
How to prioritize GPU, CPU, RAM and storage
GPU: match the game and the resolution
Graphics-card needs vary sharply across these listings. Gray Zone Warfare names several GPUs in its recommended specification, including the RTX 4070, RTX 5070, RX 6800 XT and RX 7800 XT. Ready or Not’s recommended listing instead says GTX 1060 6GB or better. That contrast does not establish how either card performs in the other game, nor does it predict frame rates at a chosen resolution. Compare cards using current benchmarks for the specific games, settings and resolution you care about.

CPU: check the exact model, not just the brand
Each game lists its own processor examples, and minimum and recommended CPUs differ. Compare the PC’s actual CPU model with the requirements for your games; a GPU upgrade cannot compensate for a processor that falls short of a game’s listed requirement. The specification lists do not provide a universal CPU threshold for realistic shooters.
Memory: use the highest relevant game recommendation as a baseline
Memory recommendations are not uniform: Gray Zone Warfare lists 32 GB recommended, Squad lists 16 GB, and Ready or Not lists 8 GB for both minimum and recommended. If you want one system for all three, use the highest recommendation among your intended games as the game-spec baseline. As a practical buying consideration—not a quoted game requirement—leave capacity for the operating system and other applications you keep open while playing.

- Processor specifications: Adopting AMD Ryzen 5 5600 processor, with a basic clock speed of 3.5GHz and a turbo frequency of 4.4GHz, it can achieve fast response computing performance
- Graphics Card: Features GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card with 6GB dedicated video memory for gaming and multimedia applications
- Memory configuration: Equipped with 32GB DDR4 RAM (16GB * 2), providing sufficient memory capacity for multitasking and demanding applications
- Gaming Performance: Designed to handle modern gaming titles and graphics-intensive tasks with smooth frame rates and visual quality
- Desktop System: Complete gaming desktop computer system ready for setup and use out of the box
Storage: verify both free space and drive type
The listings specify 40 GB for Gray Zone Warfare, 60 GB for Ready or Not and 65 GB for Squad. Gray Zone Warfare explicitly requires an SSD. Check available capacity and drive type rather than assuming that a PC’s advertised storage is all free for games.
A practical checklist for comparing PCs
- List the games and target settings. Note each intended game, target resolution and graphics settings so you know which requirements and benchmarks matter.
- Open each game’s current requirement page. Record the minimum and recommended CPU, GPU, RAM and storage, including any special requirement such as AVX2, an SSD, Windows 11 or a microphone.
- Check the candidate’s complete configuration. Confirm the actual CPU and GPU models, installed memory, available storage and drive type; do not judge a desktop by one component name alone.
- Compare performance evidence on like-for-like terms. Seek benchmarks for the same game, resolution and graphics settings, preferably using a comparable version. Requirement tables are not benchmark charts.
- Assess the whole system and upgrade path. Consider component compatibility and whether the complete PC meets your needs; do not assume an isolated upgrade will resolve every limitation.
Why “recommended” does not mean a guaranteed frame rate
Publishers’ minimum and recommended configurations are useful screening information, but the three listings above do not use one shared test protocol or promise a particular FPS. They do not establish a common 1440p or 4K target. Treat them as a starting point for checking compatibility, then rely on relevant performance testing when a specific resolution, settings level or frame-rate goal matters.
