Start with your team and the place you’ll watch: if your team is in your local television territory, check its local streaming or TV provider; if it’s out of market, MLB.TV is the main package to investigate. Neither route guarantees every game everywhere—blackouts and national exclusives can change where a particular matchup is available.
Choose by team and viewing location
MLB viewing rights are split between local team coverage, out-of-market coverage, and nationally distributed games. The right service depends on which team you want to watch and your physical location when streaming. MLB’s 2026 team viewing guide lists local and out-of-market routes by club; check your team’s entry rather than assuming one service covers the whole league.
- Find your team’s local route. If you’re inside its home television territory, check the team’s listed streaming service and the TV providers that carry its channel.
- For an out-of-market team, check MLB.TV. It offers live and on-demand out-of-market games, subject to blackout restrictions.
- Check national games separately. A matchup may be carried exclusively by a national partner instead of the usual local or MLB.TV route.
- Before subscribing, confirm the blackout rules for your location, compatible devices, the price at checkout, and any renewal terms.
Compare the main ways to watch
| Option | Best fit | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| A team’s local streaming service or TV provider | Watching a team inside its home television territory | Availability and eligible locations vary by team and provider. National exclusives may affect individual games. |
| MLB.TV | Following teams outside your local market | Local and national blackout restrictions apply; it is not an all-games pass for every location. |
| National partners, such as Apple TV or Peacock | Watching a particular nationally distributed game | These are selected-game routes, not a full-season package for one team; geographic restrictions can apply. |
| Cable, satellite, telecom, or live-TV provider | Getting channels that carry a local regional sports network or national broadcasts | Channel lineups and availability depend on your market and provider. |
Find your team’s local service
Local options are team-specific. MLB’s 2026 guide, published July 15, lists examples including NESN 360 for the Red Sox, Gotham Sports or Prime Video for the Yankees, CLEGUARDIANS.TV for the Guardians, MARQ Sports Network for the Cubs, and SNLA+ for the Dodgers. These examples are not a complete market guide: consult the full team list and check each service’s location eligibility.
MLB.com says its 2026 guide covers direct-to-consumer options for all 30 teams, with 14 teams adding a new option during the offseason. That describes the guide’s 2026 season context; it does not mean every service has the same territory, price, or coverage.

When MLB.TV makes sense—and what it costs
MLB.TV is aimed at viewers following teams outside their local market. MLB describes live and on-demand out-of-market games, with geographic blackout restrictions. The service bases restrictions on physical location, which may be determined using factors including IP address; boundaries and restrictions can change. Check the current MLB.TV and local streaming options for your location before paying.
As listed on October 4, 2026, MLB’s subscription page offers MLB.TV for $29.99 for the remainder of the 2026 season. The offer says the subscription renews on or about March 1, 2027, at the then-current regular full-season price. ESPN’s MLB.TV page currently lists that full-season price as $149.99 per season and also shows the remaining-season offer. These are time-sensitive terms: verify the checkout price and renewal details before subscribing.

Check national games and blackouts
MLB’s 2026 guide lists national routes including MLB Tuesday on TBS, Apple TV Friday Night Baseball, MLB on FOX, weekly ESPN exclusives, and Sunday Leadoff and Sunday Night Baseball on NBC and Peacock. A season package may not carry a specific nationally exclusive game. For a matchup you don’t want to miss, check its schedule listing and named rights holder.

Blackouts can affect national services, too. Peacock says selected regular-season, special-event, and postseason games may be unavailable because of territorial blackout restrictions. Its restrictions can apply whether a club is playing at home or away and whether or not the game is televised in that club’s home television territory. See Peacock’s MLB blackout information for its rules.
