Claiming a game adds access to the EA Account you use; installing it downloads game files to your PC. If you bought the game digitally through the EA app, it should already be in your Library. If you have a PC product code, redeem it first, then install the game from the Library.
Before you redeem: choose the right EA Account
A redeemed code is associated with the EA Account signed in during redemption. Check the account before entering the code, especially if you use more than one email address or share a PC. EA Help says, “Once you redeem your code, your game will appear in your EA Account.” EA’s code redemption guide explains the available routes.
Games purchased digitally through the EA app are added to the Library automatically. For a game bought from another seller, you may need to redeem a product code; follow any instructions that came with that purchase. EA’s download and play guide covers the standard flow.
Redeem a PC product code
EA supports two ways to redeem a PC product code. Use the route specified by the retailer if its instructions require one; otherwise, choose whichever makes it easiest to confirm you are using the intended EA Account.

EA’s code instructions and labels may vary by product or app version, and some older games cannot be redeemed in the app. See EA’s product and promo code instructions if the option or code does not work as expected.
Install the game from your Library
- Open the EA app and sign in to the EA Account that owns the game or has access to it.
- Open Library and find the game.
- Select the game’s download control.
- Review the install location and language, then accept the EA game terms.
- Select Download and follow progress in the Library.
The download installs files on your PC; it is separate from redeeming a code or buying the game. The exact controls can differ between app versions. For a specific title’s operating-system, storage, or hardware requirements, check that game’s official listing or support page.

If the game is missing from the Library
Check account and purchase status before reinstalling the app. Work through these causes in order; each can explain why a game is not available to install.
- Check the order status. In your EA Account order history, see whether the purchase is still processing. EA says a processed full-game purchase should appear in the Library.
- Check the account. If the order is not there, consider whether you bought the game using another EA Account or email address.
- Check the retailer code. For a purchase from another seller, confirm the code was redeemed to the account you are viewing and check the seller’s redemption instructions.
- Confirm what you bought. EA’s Library shows full games, not DLC or add-ons. To manage add-ons, open the game’s tile and choose Manage add-ons. A subscription is not the same as a separately purchased full game.
- Check EA Play access. If you can play the game through EA Play rather than owning it separately, the membership must be active for continued access.
- Refresh the app. If the account, order, code, and product type all check out, clear the EA app cache, restart the app, and sign out and back in. Reinstalling the EA app is a later option if those steps do not refresh the Library.

Legacy games that may not follow the usual process
EA identifies some older titles that cannot be redeemed in the EA app and may only be playable if you still have the original disc. Its examples include The Sims, The Sims 2, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, Command & Conquer, Medal of Honor, and Crysis. This is a limited exception for certain legacy games, not a general requirement for installing current EA games. Check EA’s redemption guidance for the specific title.
