To claim a plot in Pax Dei, create an active plot slot with a Plot Token, then place a plot in that slot. To unclaim one, use plot management to release it—but manual release immediately makes its buildings and items public and cannot be undone. If you want the chance to recover eligible contents, let the slot expire instead: it enters a three-day Frozen period before automatic release.
How to claim a standard plot
- Create a plot slot. Use one Plot Token to activate a standard slot for one month. The token pays for the slot, not for placing the plot in it.
- Check the server region. A slot is tied to the region where you created it and cannot be used in another region.
- Choose an area and place the plot. Once the slot is active and empty, placing a plot in it does not consume another token. See the Pax Dei plot-management guide and Plot Token FAQ.
Using a token to create a slot cannot be canceled or refunded. Releasing the plot or deleting your avatar does not return the token; the slot remains active for the period you paid for.

What happens when you manually release a plot?
In plot management, choose the option to release the placed plot. If its slot is still active, it becomes empty, so you can place another plot in that slot immediately or later. Releasing it does not refund the Plot Token.

Buildings and items become public immediately, and nothing is sent to the Redeeming Queue. Other players may destroy public construction and retrieve its materials. Released building pieces begin to decay; the official decay guide says decay starts 48 hours after release and all pieces are gone by 96 hours. Pieces removed through decay leave no materials behind.

What happens when a standard plot slot expires?
Standard slots can be set to auto-renew or allowed to expire. With auto-renewal enabled, the system attempts to use a Plot Token shortly before expiration to extend the slot by one month. If auto-renewal is off or no token is available, the slot becomes Frozen rather than releasing immediately.
During the three-day Frozen period
You have three days to reactivate the plot with one Plot Token. While it is Frozen, you cannot place a new plot or add buildings or props. You can still change the plot’s name or permissions, destroy buildings and reclaim their materials, access containers, and manage the market stall. The Frozen Status guide explains these limits.
After Frozen status ends
Automatic release handles the original circular core area differently from extensions. Eligible building pieces in the core area are deconstructed, and materials and props go to the owner’s Redeeming Queue. Stored items are queued as well; gold is refunded to the container owner. Market stall orders are canceled and their items return to the sellers.

Plot extensions are not packed into the queue: they remain in the world, become public, and decay. The Redeeming Queue guide says eligible items can be collected at any active plot or Petra Dei camp. In standard provinces, retrieval is allowed anywhere in the same world; in Lyonesse, it is restricted to the exact valley where the items originated.
Can you restore a released plot?
No. Once released, the plot itself cannot be restored. You can claim public construction with a new plot if it falls within the new plot’s coverage, but the game does not guarantee that you can place it at the exact former coordinates.
Placing a new plot over decaying pieces pauses their decay timer for as long as the plot remains, but that does not reinstate the released claim. These rules are described in the plot-management guide and decay guide.

Grace Plots: an alternative to a Plot Token
Pax Dei Support’s Grace Plot page, updated April 8, 2026, says a Grace Plot costs 400 Grace for one month. Grace comes from daily login rewards and Gold Offerings. You can have one active Grace Plot per server region.

Grace Plots do not auto-renew. You may spend another 400 Grace to extend one when less than a month remains, up to two months ahead, or use a standard Plot Token instead. Check the Grace Plot FAQ for the current rules.
Quick Recap
Which option should you choose?
| Choice | What happens | Main consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Keep a standard slot active with auto-renewal | The system tries to spend a Plot Token to extend it by one month. | If no token is available, the slot becomes Frozen. |
| Let a standard slot expire | The plot is Frozen for three days, then automatically released. | Eligible core-area contents go to the Redeeming Queue; extensions become public. |
| Manually release a plot | The active slot becomes empty, but the plot’s contents become public immediately. | Nothing is queued, and public pieces decay. |
| Use or extend a Grace Plot | Pay 400 Grace for a month and extend it manually. | No auto-renewal; one active Grace Plot per server region. |
