On PS5, open Games home screen > PlayStation Plus > Benefits > Monthly Games, select a game, then choose Download. On PS4, go to Function screen > PlayStation Plus > Monthly Games, select the game, then choose Add to Library > Download. You can also start a download remotely from a web browser or the PlayStation App. You need an active PlayStation Plus membership to download and play claimed Monthly Games.
Claim a Monthly Game on PS5
- From the Games home screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
- Scroll to Benefits, then select Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game you want and select Download.

Claim a Monthly Game on PS4
- From the function screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus.
- Scroll down and select Monthly Games.
- Highlight the game, select Add to Library, then choose Download.

Start a download remotely
PlayStation also supports setting a selected Monthly Game to download to a PS5 or PS4 through a web browser or the PlayStation App. The support guide links to separate browser and app instructions; use those for the detailed remote-download steps rather than assuming the console menu labels apply.

What claiming a Monthly Game means
PlayStation Support describes Monthly Games as games available to download and play at no extra cost during a PlayStation Plus membership. New games are added each calendar month. Adding a game to your library is not permanent access without membership: you can download and play claimed Monthly Games while your account has an active PlayStation Plus plan. Monthly Games are different from the Game Catalog
Monthly Games are claimed individually and remain playable while your membership is active. The Game Catalog and Classics Catalog are separate benefits tied to membership tiers: Extra includes Game Catalog access, while Premium includes both catalogs and streaming of many catalog titles. Catalog access is not the same as claiming a Monthly Game, and some catalog games have a listed removal date and later leave the service. US note on PS4 Monthly Games
As of the PlayStation US page reviewed October 7, 2026, Sony says PS4 games will be added to Monthly Games only intermittently starting in January 2026. This statement is specific to the US page; check the PlayStation Plus information for your territory for its current offering.
