Razer’s Wolverine V3 Pro is an Xbox-licensed wireless controller for Xbox and PC with Hall Effect thumbsticks. Its headline 1000Hz polling rate is limited to wired PC Tournament Mode: Razer specifies 250Hz when the controller is wireless or connected to Xbox. The $199.99 price was its launch MSRP in 2024, not a verified current selling price.
What the 1000Hz claim means
Razer’s rate figures depend on how the controller is connected and used. The company specifies 250Hz polling wirelessly and on Xbox, and 1000Hz in Tournament Mode when wired to a PC. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured latency results. See Razer’s product specifications and FAQ for the stated conditions.
| Use | Polling rate stated by Razer |
|---|---|
| Wireless, via the 2.4GHz USB-A dongle | 250Hz |
| Connected to Xbox | 250Hz |
| Wired to PC, Tournament Mode | 1000Hz |
So the 1000Hz figure should not be read as the wireless or Xbox rate. Razer announced the controller on August 28, 2024; its launch announcement describes it as an Xbox-licensed wireless esports controller for Xbox and PC. Razer’s announcement also listed a $199.99 USD launch MSRP for the Pro. That historical price does not establish what it costs today.
What controls and features does it include?
Razer lists Hall Effect thumbsticks alongside controls intended for customization and faster input:

Hall Effect describes the stick sensing technology; it is not proof that a controller can never develop stick problems. The official specifications do not establish a failure rate or guarantee drift immunity.
How does it connect, and what is in the box?
For wireless play, the V3 Pro uses a 2.4GHz connection through the included USB-A dongle. Razer also lists wired play and charging through an included 10-foot cable. The announced package includes the controller, a carrying case, the wireless dongle, the cable, and two interchangeable stick-cap styles. Razer’s specifications support PC use; the 1000Hz Tournament Mode rate is specifically for a wired PC connection.

How does it compare with the Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition?
Razer’s wired Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition is the closest comparison in the company’s lineup. The launch prices below are historical MSRP figures from Razer’s August 28, 2024 announcement, not current prices.
| Feature | Wolverine V3 Pro | Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition |
|---|---|---|
| Wireless connectivity | Yes; 2.4GHz dongle | No; wired |
| Carrying case and interchangeable stick caps | Included | Not stated in Razer’s cited comparison |
| Haptics | Razer describes them as more advanced | Less advanced than the Pro, according to Razer |
| Launch MSRP | $199.99 USD | $99.99 USD |
Razer’s FAQ identifies wireless compatibility as the principal difference and also points to the Pro’s case, swappable caps, and more advanced haptics. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent comparative test findings.

What the specifications do—and do not—establish
The official material establishes the advertised controls, connection options, package contents, and polling-rate conditions. It does not establish independently measured latency, comparative competitive performance, durability, or a controller failure rate. Razer’s launch announcement includes promotional praise from Halo competitor Eric “Snip3down” Wrona; that endorsement is not a test result.
