To close a timeloop in Hell Is Us, defeat the Guardians tied to it, enter the loop, and have your drone use an Amine Prism matching its classification: Theta, Sigma, or Rho. For the full cleanup route, PowerPyx’s September 5, 2025 guide lists 14 timeloops; closing them is separate from clearing ordinary Hollows in each area.
How to close a timeloop
- Find its Guardians. Equip and activate the Guardian Detector. A plume of black smoke points generally toward a nearby Guardian; activate the detector again to search for another. The detector is a Guardian-finding aid, not a confirmed tracker for every Hollow. GameSpot’s August 28, 2025 guide describes this method.
- Defeat the linked Guardians. The loop becomes accessible once its Guardians are defeated. Trying to enter before meeting that condition prompts a warning that the loop is too dangerous.
- Check the loop’s classification. Once inside, identify whether it requires a Theta, Sigma, or Rho Amine Prism.
- Use the matching prism. Give the correct prism to your drone to collapse the loop. If you do not have the right type, walk to the loop’s edge to leave and return later. Guardians you have defeated do not respawn, according to GameSpot.
Gildas Brom appears in Vyssa Hills after the Watcher’s Nest Puzzle. GameSpot reports that discussing “Timeloops” with him grants the Guardian Detector and a Sigma prism. Other prisms can come from exploration, NPCs such as Auriga Museum technicians, Good Deeds, Mysteries, and Lymbic Chests or Doors. PowerPyx says the main story path and relevant Good Deeds, Mysteries, Vaults of Forbidden Knowledge, and claimed Gildas rewards can supply enough for all closures; if you are short, check those sources before continuing your sweep.

The guide’s Marastan entry spells the prism “Anime,” while its other entries use “Amine.” Treat that as an apparent guide typo and check the item name shown in your game rather than relying on that spelling. For Auriga Museum B4, PowerPyx says to interact with a computer and enter code 7584 to spawn the Guardians.

Loop closures versus clearing an area
Closing every listed loop is not necessarily enough for the Legend of the Phol achievement. PowerPyx says remaining Hollows must also be defeated in each area. Check the APC map for “Threats: Clear”; in locations with multiple levels, use the threat indicators to identify which level still has enemies. Loop Guardians and ordinary Hollows are distinct cleanup tasks, so a Guardian Detector sweep should not be treated as proof that an area is empty.
Where to look for a last Guardian or Hollow
If the detector has not led you to a Guardian, reactivate it to seek the next target and search nearby routes. If an area still shows threats after its loop is closed, sweep side paths and lower or enclosed areas. PowerPyx calls out these likely hiding places:

- Acasa Marshes: Shallow pools may conceal enemies underwater until you approach. Also check the tunnels beneath Jova and the tunnel where Victor was rescued.
- Lake Cynon’s Lymbic Forge: Search side paths and dead ends.
- Vyssa Hills: Check mine tunnels and lower water pools.
- Talju: Sweep the north and south paths and the garage near the APC.
- Marastan: Check the church crypt and caves around the area.
- Temple of the Fallen: Search its side paths.
These are guide-specific places to check, not a guarantee that every remaining enemy will be found there. A Steam Community announcement excerpt dated May 2026 mentioned detecting remaining Lymbic Entities after a loop is closed in an area, but its exact patch, platform coverage, and interface behavior are not established here. Do not rely on that behavior as a universal feature without checking the current patch notes for your platform.

PowerPyx lists closure rewards that generally include Relics and Glyphs, but the reward is not identical for every loop. The guide says the story-related Sphere Antechamber loop has no Gildas reward. It also says none of the listed loops are missable, so remaining closures can be completed after the story.
