To complete a bounty in Cattle Country, pick up a Wanted Poster at the Sheriff’s building, track down and take out the named bandit in the wilderness, then return to Sheriff Tom to claim your reward.
How to accept and complete a bounty
- Find a Wanted Poster: Go to the Sheriff’s building and pick up a bounty from one of the posters.
- Track the bandit: Head into the wilderness and look for your target.
- Take down the target: Defeat the wanted bandit to finish the hunt.
- Claim your reward: Return to Sheriff Tom. Playtonic Games’ Bandits & Bounties Update announcement, published 24 August 2026, describes the final steps as: “Find your target, take them down and head back to Sheriff Tom to claim your reward.”
What reward do you get?
The update confirms that you claim a reward from Sheriff Tom after completing the bounty, but it does not identify the reward type or amount. No specific payout, item, or target-by-target reward is established in the official materials.

How bounties differ from other bandit encounters
Wanted Poster hunts are a separate activity from other hostile encounters described in the update:
- Bandit camps: These may appear while exploring the overworld and may offer plunder. The announcement does not make clearing a camp part of completing a poster bounty.
- Robberies and shootouts: Random encounters may take place at the General Store, Butcher, Carpenter, and Bank. These are not the stated way to claim a bounty reward.
Details the official update does not establish
Playtonic’s announcement does not specify bounty deadlines, failure conditions, repeat limits, required equipment, level requirements, or a method for maximizing payouts. The official game page and Steam listing do not provide those bounty-specific details either, so treat them as unconfirmed.
