To complete an FC Ultimate Team Squad Building Challenge (SBC) without overspending, check the exact requirements and reward, use eligible items you already own, price any missing players on the live Transfer Market, and submit only after weighing the reward against the value of your items. The details depend on the game: FC 26 uses squad-based requirements, while FC 27 also has Simplified SBCs based on Item Score. Always confirm the current challenge terms in-game; prices, rewards and deadlines change.
How SBCs differ in FC 26 and FC 27
In FC 26, an SBC asks you to submit a squad that meets its listed conditions. These can include Squad Rating, Chemistry, Player Quality, League, Nation or Club requirements, and a challenge may contain multiple parts or allow repeat submissions.

FC 27 has traditional puzzle SBCs with squad requirements, as well as Simplified SBCs that count eligible Player Items toward a specified Item Score. Do not apply the Item Score approach to FC 26. For current rules and interface details, see EA’s SBC guidance.
A low-risk workflow for completing an SBC
- Read the full challenge. Note every requirement, the reward, the expiry time and whether every sub-challenge is needed for a group reward. Check whether the challenge is repeatable.
- Check your Club first. Look for eligible players you are comfortable using. In FC 26, also check SBC Storage, which holds duplicate untradeable Player Items. It is not a general storage location for every untradeable item.
- Build against all requirements. For a puzzle SBC, verify rating, chemistry, quality and any league, nation or club conditions together. A squad that meets the rating alone may still fail another condition.
- For FC 27 Simplified SBCs, track Item Score. Check each eligible item’s contribution and how much remains. Avoid adding a much higher score than required unless you have a reason to use those items.
- Price only what is missing. Check the live Transfer Market before buying. Prices and availability vary, so there is no universal cheapest squad or reliable fixed coin cost. EA also describes SBC management and Transfer Market access in the FC Companion App.
- Review the submission before confirming. Make sure the selected players are the ones you intend to exchange, the reward is worth the cost to you, and there is enough time before expiry.
How to decide whether an SBC is worth it
Compare what you will receive with what you give up—not just the headline rating of the reward. Consider whether the reward is useful to your team, whether submitted items are tradeable or useful elsewhere, and whether you already have suitable players. If you need to buy items, use their current prices on your platform in the decision rather than an old solution or a price quoted elsewhere.

There is no named statistic establishing how many coins this workflow saves, and a single cheapest-squad answer would quickly go stale as requirements and market prices change. If the reward does not justify the items you would sacrifice or the purchases you would need to make, skip the challenge.
Why submission deserves a final check
EA states: “SBC submissions are final.” Submitted items are permanently removed, and EA Advisors cannot restore them. In FC 27 Simplified SBCs, items are removed when submitted even if you have made only partial progress; partial progress does not earn the main reward until the requirements are complete. EA describes partial, untradeable rewards if a challenge expires after progress, but check the specific challenge terms before relying on that outcome.

Some SBCs expire, and an expired FC 26 challenge will no longer accept submissions. Check the in-game deadline before you start, especially if you are spreading FC 27 Simplified SBC progress across multiple submissions.

Pack probabilities describe broad categories or rating ranges, not the odds of receiving a particular player; EA says the chance for an individual item is significantly lower and often below 1%. Probabilities are recalculated with content updates. For that reason, opening paid packs is not a dependable cost-saving method for obtaining a specific SBC player.
