Accept the contract from Ocheeva, assassinate Adamus Phillida in Leyawiin, then return to Ocheeva. To earn the optional bonus, loot Phillida’s finger and leave it on a desk in the Imperial Legion Offices at the Imperial City Prison. Phillida’s bathing hour varies between walkthrough accounts, so watch his routine instead of relying on a precise time.
Accept Ocheeva’s contract
“Permanent Retirement” is a Dark Brotherhood contract given by Ocheeva after you complete “Whodunit?,” according to Gamer Guides’ Dark Brotherhood quest walkthrough. Ocheeva supplies the Rose of Sithis, a special arrow intended for the assassination.
Find Phillida in Leyawiin
Travel to Leyawiin and look for Adamus Phillida, a retired Imperial Legion officer. He bathes at a pool or pond and is unarmored during that routine, creating the clearest opportunity to attack. Guides disagree about when to find him: Gamerpillar’s Remastered-specific walkthrough, published May 1, 2025, places the opportunity around 3 PM, while Gamer Guides recommends looking around 7 PM. Treat those as guide-reported times, not a guaranteed schedule; observe Phillida’s movements in your game.
Kill Adamus Phillida
The Rose of Sithis is a convenient way to carry out the contract, but Gamer Guides notes it is not required. You can use another method; the important opportunity described by both walkthroughs is to attack while Phillida is bathing and out of his armor. Once he is dead, loot his body if you want to pursue the bonus objective.

For the bonus, take the Finger of Adamus Phillida to the Imperial Legion Offices at the Imperial City Prison and place it on the U-shaped desk on the ground floor. Gamerpillar says Phillida’s Imperial Watch Office Key opens the office door, but you will still need a lockpick to open the desk. The finger objective adds a trip beyond the assassination itself.
Return to Ocheeva
Report back to Ocheeva after the kill to complete the contract. Gamer Guides reports a reward of 600 gold for the quest and an additional 500 gold for delivering the finger, as well as the Assassin, Dark Brotherhood achievement or trophy. These are that guide’s reported reward details, not an official Remastered guarantee.
