The optional Chapter 3 Treasure Hunter quest takes you from North Shore of the Bitter Lake to Towers of Karma and Melon Field. Speak with the Treasure Hunter at the first two locations, cast Ring of Fire beside him at Towers of Karma, then defeat the Green-Capped Martialist near the Buddha statue at Melon Field to earn Spell Binder. Spoilers: This guide names the final boss and reward.
Step 1: Find the Treasure Hunter at North Shore of the Bitter Lake
Travel to the North Shore of the Bitter Lake shrine and follow the shore toward the temple area. You’ll find enemies attacking the Treasure Hunter. Defeat them, then speak with him until his dialogue is exhausted. This is the first interaction in the quest sequence.

If he is no longer there, story progress may have moved him. Continue to the Towers of Karma instead. PowerPyx notes this change in its Treasure Hunter quest walkthrough.
Step 2: Use Ring of Fire at Towers of Karma
In the Valley of Ecstasy, find the Treasure Hunter sitting near the Towers of Karma shrine. Cast Ring of Fire near him to trigger a scene in which he warms himself. Then talk to him until his dialogue is exhausted; he will point you toward Melon Field.

Step 3: Reach Melon Field
Start from Forest of Felicity. Take the descending path to the right of the gate and continue toward the lower water and cliff area. Follow the route down to the Melon Field shrine. Walkthroughs describe the precise approach differently, so use the shrine names as navigation anchors rather than relying on a single landmark-by-landmark description.

Step 4: Trigger and defeat the Green-Capped Martialist
After completing both conversations, approach the large Buddha statue near the Melon Field shrine. The encounter may also be described as taking place inside the cave by the shrine; explore the statue and cave area if the fight does not begin immediately. Defeat the Green-Capped Martialist to finish the quest sequence and receive Spell Binder.
What Spell Binder does
Spell Binder prevents spellcasting—including spells, transformations, and spirits—in exchange for increased attack, according to Gamer Guides’ Treasure Hunter quest guide. That tradeoff may suit a build focused on attack, but it is not automatically the best choice for every character. The available guide does not quantify the attack increase.
