To complete the Veil of the Forsaken Bestiary in Fisch, progress through Calm Zone, solve its timed statue puzzle, defeat Scylla once to unlock fishing, then personally catch the eight non-Secret fish using their preferred bait and weather. Scylla is also listed as a Secret catch, but the available Bestiary guidance does not establish that catching it is required for the Veil completion counter.
Unlock access to Veil of the Forsaken
Veil of the Forsaken is the fifth and final layer of Mariana’s Veil. You must reach Calm Zone first; the route and encounter details below are reported by the community-maintained Calm Zone guide and Veil of the Forsaken guide. Since these are community sources rather than official developer documentation, follow current in-game prompts if an update changes a mechanic.
Open the Calm Zone route
- Reach the back of Calm Zone and cross the stone parkour section to its gate.
- Place these three Exotic fish on the pedestals: Magma Leviathan from Volcanic Vents, Frozen Leviathan from Challenger’s Deep, and Crowned Anglerfish from Abyssal Zenith. The gate opens, providing access to the Calm Zone Rainbow Pool.
Solve the four-statue puzzle
- At the back of Calm Zone, enter the room containing four chess statues.
- Move each statue into its correct position. A correct placement lights green; complete the puzzle within one minute.
- When solved, the trapdoor opens onto the route to Scylla. The Calm Zone guide also describes an obby skip using a Glider or Advanced Glider and specific coordinates; because that shortcut may be version-sensitive, use the standard puzzle route if the skip does not work.
Defeat Scylla to unlock fishing
- Drop through the trapdoor into the encounter room. The reported fight limit is ten minutes.
- Collect all three white-marked bow pieces around the pool, then place them at the top of the entrance.
- Avoid falling into the void: doing so loses collected pieces. Dying returns you to the second puzzle.
- Defeat Scylla. The boss needs to be defeated once to unlock fishing access to Veil of the Forsaken.
The Veil has no Inn Keeper of its own. The Veil guide says it is accessible through the Calm Zone Inn Keeper; the Calm Zone guide also notes a surface portal beside that area’s Inn Keeper.
Catch the eight regular Veil fish
The Veil guide lists the following preferred bait and weather for the location’s non-Secret entries. It lists time and season as Any for every fish, so those are not restrictions in the table.

Use the listed bait and wait for the matching weather when targeting a particular entry. These are preferred conditions, not a guarantee of a catch. The community-maintained Twilight Tentaclefish entry also reports a -85% progress-speed decrease for that fish, which can make the catch more difficult.
Does Scylla count toward 100%?
The Veil table lists Scylla separately as a Secret catch, with Shark Head bait and Any time, weather, and season. Do not confuse catching Scylla during a hunt with defeating the boss once to unlock fishing: the former is a separate hunt activity. The Veil source says a hunt can occur naturally or be started with a Sundial Totem, lasts 15 minutes, and allows only one player to catch Scylla.

The general Bestiary guide says Secret fish are generally not required for completion, but the available sources do not confirm how that rule applies specifically to the Veil counter. Catch the eight non-Secret entries first; if the in-game Veil counter remains below 100%, use that live counter to determine whether Scylla is required in your current version.

Fish obtained by trading do not count toward your personal Bestiary completion percentage; you must catch them yourself. The general Bestiary guide says Limited, Secret, and Divine Secret fish are generally excluded from completion requirements, with Phantom Megalodon noted as an exception. That general rule is not a definitive Veil-specific ruling for Scylla.

The same guide describes game-wide rewards, not rewards for completing the Veil section alone: at least 70% completion of the overall Bestiary unlocks eligibility to buy the Destiny Rod from Caleia at The Arch for 190,000 C$, while 100% of the overall Bestiary awards the Aurora Bobber. The Veil guide also lists the Leviathan’s Fang Rod for 350,000 C$ at the entrance; it is a purchase option, not a stated reward for completing this location’s Bestiary.
