To run a 24/7 YouTube music stream through OBS on JioFiber, create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, connect OBS with the stream details YouTube provides, and set the output to a bitrate your actual upload connection can sustain. Keep the computer and network powered, test the music and stream health before launch, and arrange recovery: OBS and a JioFiber plan do not guarantee uninterrupted streaming.
Before configuring OBS: check YouTube access and music rights
Confirm the channel can go live
YouTube says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its eligibility guidance also says streamers must be at least 16. Use YouTube Studio’s encoder workflow to create or schedule the broadcast. Check YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility requirements if Studio does not offer the option.
Make sure the music can be broadcast
Rights to play a track privately or upload it as a video do not automatically establish permission to use it in a live broadcast or retain its archive. Confirm that your music and visuals are licensed for both uses. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content; even licensed material can be interrupted if the channel is not on the rights owner’s Content ID allowlist. YouTube advises: “If you’ve licensed third-party content to use in your stream, ask the owner of the content to add your channel to their allowlist through Content ID.” See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.
Set up the YouTube stream and connect OBS
- Create or schedule the event: In YouTube Studio, open the live-streaming workflow and choose the encoder option. Select the event you intend to use; OBS must send video to that event’s active stream details.
- Connect OBS: In OBS, open Settings → Stream. Choose YouTube if available in your installed version and connect the account, or select the service/RTMP option and enter the stream URL and key displayed in YouTube Studio. Labels may differ by OBS version. OBS documents its setup in the OBS Project knowledge base.
- Protect the stream key: Treat it like a password. Do not post it, show it on screen, or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel. If it is exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update OBS.
- Prepare a repeatable program: Add the licensed music and visual source in OBS, and verify that the playlist or media source loops as intended. Check that audio is routed to the stream, is audible, and is not clipping.
- Start a test stream: Start streaming from OBS and check the incoming preview and stream health in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Use a private or unlisted test when appropriate, listen through transitions, and leave it running long enough to test representative audio and video and observe upload stability.
- Go live: Once the preview and health indicators are acceptable, complete YouTube’s go-live confirmation for the scheduled event if required. Keep a monitoring and restart plan for the public run.
Choose OBS output settings that fit your upload
Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance as the reference, then test against the upload connection you actually have. YouTube recommends RTMP or RTMPS ingestion, H.264, constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval (not over four seconds), and AAC or MP3 audio. RTMPS is recommended for encrypted delivery. YouTube also lists H.265/HEVC and AV1 among supported codec options; encoder availability and device load depend on your hardware and OBS setup. See YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrates.

H.264 bitrate reference from YouTube
The values below are YouTube’s published recommended and minimum H.264 video bitrates, not measured JioFiber speeds or a guarantee of stability. For a mostly static music visual, 720p30 or 1080p30 is a reasonable starting choice if repeated tests show adequate headroom; a higher frame rate may increase upload demand without materially improving a static image.

Audio and keyframes
- Set the keyframe interval to 2 seconds; do not exceed 4 seconds.
- For stereo, YouTube lists AAC or MP3 audio at 128 Kbps and 44.1 kHz.
- Use CBR rather than a variable video bitrate for the stream.
Decide based on an upload test, not the plan name
JioFiber plan names do not establish the upload speed or stability available at your computer at a given time. YouTube recommends running a speed test to check upload bitrate, testing before going live, and monitoring stream health. Begin with a resolution and bitrate the tested connection can sustain with headroom; if the test or Live Control Room shows instability, lower the bitrate or resolution and test again. Wi-Fi quality, local congestion, and the wired or wireless path can affect the result.

What 24/7 operation on JioFiber depends on
With OBS, your own computer is the encoder: it must remain on, OBS must keep running, and power and internet connectivity must continue. A network outage, power interruption, software failure, or YouTube interruption can stop the broadcast. Plan how someone will notice a failure and restart the stream; do not treat “unlimited” broadband wording as an uptime commitment.
Jio’s postpaid FAQ describes its plans as unlimited for home use and also says RJIL may discontinue data service for misuse, fraudulent, unauthorised, or commercial use. It does not establish whether every continuous stream is permitted or prohibited, or define the boundary for commercial use. A properly sized UPS can help keep the computer and networking equipment powered through a brief local power interruption, but it does not back up the ISP network. Size it for the combined equipment load and desired runtime; no particular capacity or runtime is established here.
Troubleshooting OBS and YouTube stream problems
- YouTube receives no signal: Confirm OBS is using the correct service, event, stream URL, and current key. Check that OBS has started streaming and that the outbound connection is available.
- Dropped frames or poor stream health: Reduce bitrate or resolution, repeat the upload test, and inspect the local network path. A lower stable setting is preferable to a higher setting that repeatedly loses frames.
- The stream stops after music begins: Check Live Control Room for copyright notices or strikes. Stop disputed material; if the use is licensed and Content ID is involved, ask the rights owner to allowlist the channel.
- Music is silent, clipped, or has gaps: Check OBS audio routing and levels, then listen to the incoming test stream rather than relying only on local monitoring. Verify that the playlist advances and loops cleanly.
- Concern about continuous or commercial use: Ask Jio about the exact plan and use case; the general postpaid FAQ does not resolve how its commercial-use qualification applies to every stream.
