A 24/7 channel does not mean a teacher is live all day: if the program loops prerecorded lessons, say so plainly. Before streaming any textbook pages, diagrams, music, or third-party videos, check the license for each specific item; being educational or available online does not automatically grant permission to rebroadcast it.
Choose the stream format before you set it up
Decide what viewers will actually see and hear. Common formats include a loop of original Hindi chapter-review videos, narrated worked problems, or a live teacher-led revision session. A continuously available prerecorded playlist is operationally different from a teacher teaching live; identify it accurately in the title and description and do not promise live interaction unless someone is actually present.
For a useful revision stream, organize content so someone arriving at any hour can tell where they are: class, subject, chapter, and session. Add a persistent on-screen label and a Hindi playlist or schedule guide. These are viewer-facing design choices, not YouTube requirements.
- Start with original explanations, self-created diagrams, and worked examples where possible.
- Check that Hindi text is legible on a phone and that the selected font renders Devanagari correctly.
- Use chapter cards and transitions that make the loop understandable even when a viewer joins mid-session.
- Provide a route for viewers to report a correction, and assign someone to review corrections and monitor the broadcast.
Check YouTube eligibility and plan the delivery method
YouTube Help’s “Get started with live streaming” page, accessed October 3, 2026, says a channel must be verified, must not have a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. Check eligibility in YouTube Studio before announcing a launch. YouTube Help’s encoder guide says first-time live activation may take up to 24 hours, so activate access well ahead of your intended start.
#1 Best Overall
YouTube supports encoder-based streaming for external audio and video inputs and production overlays. A dedicated hardware encoder is not essential: the documented approaches include software and cloud encoders as well as hardware devices. Choose based on who will operate the stream and what should happen when the local computer, connection, or playlist fails.
| Option | Best fit | What to assess |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | A prerecorded YouTube playlist that should keep running without a creator PC; it is the first option to consider because it runs always-on from the cloud, accepts uploads at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and has a free first day. | Confirm the playlist and uploaded files suit your use; plan how your team will monitor content and respond to rights notices or viewer issues. |
| Local software encoder | A creator with a computer who can operate or supervise the stream. | Dependence on local power and internet, loop and reconnect controls, playlist handling, cost, and operator workload. |
| Cloud playout service | A prerecorded playlist that should run without a dedicated creator PC. | Recovery and restart policy, playlist scheduling, file limits, access controls, monitoring, recurring cost, region, and support. |
| Hardware encoder | A staffed production with dedicated inputs or broadcast infrastructure. | Capital cost, input requirements, remote monitoring, maintenance, and operator skills. |
| Separate scheduled sessions | Replay and chapter discovery matter more than one persistent watch page. | Session duration, archive availability, reminders, playlist navigation, and moderation coverage. |
YouTube’s encoder documentation describes supported encoder categories and scheduled streams; it does not establish a provider’s reliability or suitability. Check current service specifications and terms before choosing a third-party option.
Prepare the lessons, playlist, and rights records
Make the video and stream assets
Prepare the video files, thumbnail, title, description, playlist order, and chapter cards before connecting the encoder. Identify the class, subject, syllabus, and chapters, and explain whether the program is a live-hosted session or prerecorded lessons in a loop. Avoid implying that a channel is official or NCERT-authorized unless you have that authorization.
Rank #2
Keep content concise enough that a viewer can find a relevant session, and test every transition in the intended loop. If your lessons contain captions or on-screen Hindi text, inspect them at phone size as well as on a larger display. An external microphone is optional for original narration; use one if your recording setup needs it, but it is not a prerequisite for an encoder stream.

Clear each item you did not create
NCERT’s CIET-DIKSHA page describes NCERT textbooks as CC BY-NC-ND and other DIKSHA resources as CC BY-NC-SA. Treat this as a category-level description, not blanket permission for every file: inspect the rights notice attached to the particular work and follow its terms. A license that restricts commercial use or derivatives may not permit your planned use, including a monetized broadcast or an adaptation. Seek permission when the intended display or reuse falls outside the license.
DIKSHA’s FAQ lists multiple license families, including CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC BY-NC, CC BY-ND variants, and YouTube License. Their conditions differ, and a license list does not authorize every item on the platform. DIKSHA’s Terms of Use place responsibility on contributors to ensure authorization and accurately reflect authorship, copyright holder, year, attributions, source, and applicable license.
Rank #3
Keep a rights log for each outside asset you include. Record the item and source, the exact license or permission, required attribution text, any territory or use limits, and who cleared it. This is especially important for textbook scans and figures, answer keys, music, and third-party videos. Do not assume that an accessible PDF or an educational purpose grants rebroadcast rights.
Connect YouTube Studio to an encoder
- Activate live access: In YouTube Studio, check that the channel is verified and eligible to stream. Complete first-time activation early because YouTube says it may take up to 24 hours.
- Open Live Control Room: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. Create a stream, or schedule it if you want a public event page and advance reminders.
- Set up the encoder: Copy the stream URL/server and stream key shown by YouTube into the corresponding encoder fields. The encoder converts and sends the video and audio feed to YouTube.
- Protect the key: Treat the stream key like a password. Do not show it on screen or share it publicly; rotate it if you suspect it has been exposed.
- Check the preview: Start the encoder output and confirm the Live Control Room preview shows the intended picture and audio before making the stream public.
- Go live and verify: Start the broadcast in YouTube’s control room when the preview is ready. Check the public watch page from a separate device or account.
Use the resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe interval supported by your chosen encoder and the current YouTube encoder guidance. The available source material here does not specify a single set of numeric encoding values that suits every connection and format, so do not copy a number without checking the current guidance and testing your actual feed. Keep the video within the quality and bandwidth your upload connection can sustain.

Rehearse the loop, moderation, and recovery plan
Run a private or unlisted rehearsal before launch. Check the preview, narration level, visual clarity, Hindi text, chapter transitions, loop boundary, and any captions or on-screen labels. Test chat moderation and decide who will respond if the stream stops, a playlist item fails, or a rights notice arrives.
Rank #4
- Write down who checks the stream and how often, including overnight and weekends if the stream is intended to run continuously.
- Document how to restart the encoder, restore the playlist, and post an update if there is a gap.
- Test the internet connection and the longest run you intend to operate before relying on the setup.
- Use moderation appropriate for a school audience, and staff chat when the stream is unattended.
YouTube’s general live-stream guidance says live content must comply with its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Its Help page documents limits of 10 active streams per channel and 3 per stream key; a single revision channel will ordinarily need far fewer. These are platform limits, not recommended targets.
Plan replays separately from the 24/7 broadcast
YouTube Help’s “Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder,” accessed October 3, 2026, says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That rule does not establish that a continuous stream longer than 12 hours will be preserved. If replay matters, publish individual lesson recordings or schedule sessions shorter than 12 hours, then verify the resulting archive in Studio. A single all-day stream should not be your only copy of a lesson or your only replay plan.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Handle copyright checks before and during the stream
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including another copyrighted live broadcast. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn the creator to stop using the material; continued use can lead to interruption or termination. YouTube’s “Copyright issues with live streams” guidance also says that even a creator with a license may need the rights holder to add the channel to its Content ID allowlist. Permission and platform detection are separate issues: obtain the rights and resolve allowlisting where applicable.
Best Value
If a rights warning appears, follow the notice, remove or replace the disputed asset, and contact the rights holder or YouTube through the appropriate channel. Do not restart the same infringing segment and assume that having an educational channel protects it.
Or let it run in the cloud
For a prerecorded NCERT revision playlist, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home, including your computer or OBS; uploaded videos stream as made up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Every slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, and StreamNeo team support. It plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a live camera feed, so label a prerecorded revision loop accordingly.

Common problems and what to check
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot start a live stream. | Live access is not activated, the channel is not eligible, or a restriction applies. | Check verification and live-stream eligibility in Studio; allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation. |
| The encoder is sending, but YouTube preview is blank or offline. | The stream URL/server or key may be incorrect, or the encoder output is not reaching YouTube. | Recheck the server and key in both systems, keep the key private, and confirm the encoder is actually sending. |
| Viewers hear no narration or the picture is difficult to read. | The selected audio input, levels, resolution, or text layout may be wrong for the intended viewing device. | Use the rehearsal to verify the selected source and inspect the stream on a phone; correct the source or layout before relaunching. |
| The stream stops during a long run. | A local power or internet interruption, encoder failure, or service-side interruption may have occurred. | Have an assigned monitor follow the restart procedure, restore the playlist, and communicate any gap; test recovery rather than assuming continuity. |
| A stream is replaced, warned, or interrupted for copyright. | YouTube may have detected third-party material; a license may not have included Content ID allowlisting. | Stop or remove the disputed item, verify the rights and terms, and contact the rights holder about allowlisting where needed. |
| A long broadcast is not available as a replay. | The automatic archive rule covers streams under 12 hours, not a continuous stream beyond that duration. | Use separate recordings or shorter scheduled sessions and check the archive in Studio. |
