Hover over the saved preset and choose Share preset to generate a code. To use another player’s code, go to Furniture > Presets > Add new import preset > Enter code. Shared codes are valid for 14 days, even if the creator edits or deletes the preset.
What Decoration Presets do
Decoration Presets let you save a decorated section of your Valley so you can reuse its arrangement. The feature works alongside Group Mode: the official announcement describes selecting a section and saving the items placed inside it, making it possible to remove, copy, or replace decorated sections. Disney Dreamlight Valley’s official Steam announcement archive describes the feature.
How to create and share a preset
- Complete Merlin’s Developed Decorating quest, which the current how-to identifies as a prerequisite for using Presets.
- Open the Furniture menu and select Presets.
- Choose Add new, select the items in the decorated section you want to save, and save the preset.
- Hover over the saved preset and select Share preset. The game generates a code you can share with another player.
The menu labels above are those reported in the current how-to; identical wording across all platforms is not established. Destructoid’s October 5, 2026 guide gives this quest and creation flow.
How to import someone else’s code
- Open Furniture, then Presets.
- Select Add new import preset.
- Choose Enter code, then type or paste the shared code.
If an item in the imported arrangement is missing from your collection, the official feature notes say it may appear as a Mirage placeholder. Interact with the placeholder to buy or craft the item and place it. The notes do not establish that every missing item is currently available to buy or craft. See the official announcement archive.

Where to find preset codes
Codes are shared by players, rather than supplied through an official code directory. The current how-to points to two places to browse:
- The Starlight Dreamers Portal, which has a dedicated presets page.
- The Disney Dreamlight Valley Reddit community, where players may post their designs and codes.
When browsing either community, check when a code was posted. A recent post is more likely to have an unexpired code; if one no longer works, ask its creator to share the preset again.

How long codes last, and what to do when one fails
Shared Decoration Preset codes last 14 days. According to Gameloft’s September 23, 2026 update notes, the period still applies if the creator edits or removes the associated preset. An older code therefore does not become a permanent copy of the design. Ask the creator to generate and share a fresh code if the one you have has expired. - The Presets controls are missing: Check that Merlin’s Developed Decorating quest is complete, then inspect the in-game Furniture > Presets menu. If the menu or labels differ, check for a game update; identical behavior across platforms is not established.
- An imported code does not work: Confirm that it was entered through Add new import preset > Enter code. If it is more than 14 days old, request a new share from the creator.
- The imported arrangement has a Mirage: Interact with the placeholder to see whether the missing item can be bought or crafted.
