Options depend on the weapon, and not every weapon can be customised.
How to access weapon customisation
- Reach Level 10. Arrowhead’s support page lists this as the unlock requirement for weapon customisation: How do I access weapon customisation?
- Open the Armory terminal aboard the Super Destroyer.
- Select a weapon, then choose Customise.
- Use that weapon on missions to level it. Weapon progression is tracked individually rather than shared across your arsenal.
- Unlock and purchase attachments as they become available. Arrowhead describes attachments as progression unlocks and says they are purchased with Requisition Slips.
What you can change
Arrowhead’s descriptions include sights, weapon patterns, magazines, muzzles, and under-barrel attachments. What appears in the menu varies by weapon: a weapon may offer only some categories, or no customisation at all. The feature was described as covering “the bulk” of primary weapons, not every weapon in the game. The current complete roster is not established by the available official sources.

These changes are in-game unlocks and purchases, not real-world accessories. The feature requires the base game, according to the PlayStation Blog feature announcement.
How to choose between attachments
There is no universally best setup established by the sources. Compare the choices shown for the weapon you are configuring and decide what suits your playstyle: for example, a sight for your preferred aiming style or a magazine option that better fits how you use the weapon. Muzzles and under-barrel attachments can change weapon characteristics, but their specific effects and availability depend on the weapon. Check the in-game descriptions and displayed stats before committing Requisition Slips.

Switching configurations before a mission
Arrowhead’s June 4, 2026 patch notes for Patch 01.003.000 say configurations can be switched during the mission loadout sequence. A secondary guide updated August 29, 2025 reports three editable saved configurations plus a default configuration; treat that slot count as dated secondary information, not a confirmed current official specification.

In its June 4, 2026 patch notes, Arrowhead reported a controller issue that could prevent cancelling customisation. The suggested temporary workaround was to save the customisation and reopen the menu. The notes do not establish whether that issue is still present, so try the workaround only if you encounter the problem.
